Environmental Artist

We're looking for an experienced Environmental Artist with strong traditional and 3D art skills that have a history of producing exceptional work for a number of games. We're especially interested in how you use color, light and texture to build realistic 3D environments with an eye for optimal use of polygons. Of course, you must also already be a pro at Photoshop and 3ds Max.

Responsibilities:

 

  • The Environmental Artist is a vital part of the team who will be collaborating with Design and Engineering to create game environments from concept to completion
  • Create high quality art assets, both 3D models and 2D textures
  • Create environment assets that are game ready and collaborate directly with level designers to achieve their vision
  •  

    Requirements:

     

  • At least 5 years of experience in game development modeling and texturing environments using 3D Studio Max, Photoshop and Zbrush
  • Solid grasp of color, form, lighting techniques for 3D assets and abilities in modeling, texturing, animation, concept drawing
  • Superior eye for light, shade, color, and detail in creating texture maps
  • Good technical ability and able to quickly master new pipelines and tools
  • Exceptional understanding of architecture and the design of organic structures and creating beautiful and evocative spaces
  • Good communication skills, self-motivation, and a great team player attitude
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Experience modeling and texturing assets for a diverse visual range of environments (buildings, vehicles, plant life, organic shapes, props, etc.)
  • Have shipped AAA PC title as a 3D artist is a huge plus
  • Experience with the creation of next-gen shaders and materials
  • 2D/3D art degree, architecture degree, or equivalent preferred

    Unity Engineer

    The Unity Engineer is a mid to senior level game programmer. In this role they will work closely with the lead programmer, designers, artists, and musicians with a great deal of autonomy to develop new systems and gameplay. Roles often shift, and programmers will work on a variety of tasks and can learn new specialities.

    Responsibilities:

     

  • Design, implement, debug and document new game systems and tools in Unity
  • Must create high quality, high performance code
  • Follow coding standards and best practices
  • Provide accurate time estimates for tasks and work within those constraints
  • Work cohesively with a team of programmers, artists and designers

    Requirements:

     

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Expert knowledge of the Unity 3D engine
  • Excellent knowledge of C#, C/C++, Java experience
  • Knowledge and usage of 3D math
  • Experience with .NET
  • 2 or more years of game industry and networking experience highly preferred
  • Should be an avid gamer with a passion for creating great games
  • Ability to work independently and to be self-directing

    Senior Designer

    The Senior Game Designer will have extensive RTS Game Design experience and will work with the lead designer and other members of the design team and in partnership with the studio's other departments to help manage the creative vision and define the fun factor of the project, ensuring they are of the highest possible industry standards. The Senior Designer also works closely with members of the production team to execute and validate the design content and work through design revisions as needed.

    Duties Include:

     

  • Leads, mentors and provides guidance to other game designers
  • Responsible for designing and developing products and product line concepts either independently or in collaboration with design team members
  • Designs game at interface, content and engineering levels
  • Develops concepts and treatments for products
  • Writes game scripts
  • Ensures that prototypes are developed
  • Communicates ideas with various product development personnel to solicit feedback and ensure support during prototype development
  • Creates working design documents and oversees the development of proposals for original and license-based titles
  • As required, collaborate with technical and creative Directors and Design Leads to troubleshoot, enhance or define new pipelines and processes to aid each design team's workflow
  •  

    Qualifications:

     

  • Must be a proven Senior Game Designer with 6+ years experience with credit on at least one major AAA or RTS game title
  • Must have exceptional leadership skills and experience leading a design team
  • Must be willing and capable of taking on a larger role in the future (project lead design / creative director)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Exceptional organization, communication, and writing skills
  • Expert knowledge of game design trends
  • Self-directed, detail oriented, problem solver with a burning desire to contribute to a uniquely creative environment
  • Experience and thorough knowledge of how the major game design elements all work together
  • Proven success in creating compelling game-play, scenarios, activities, and encounters
  • Ability to both conceptualize and implement game ideas using various tools and technology
  • An avid gamer with strong interest in pushing the game industry forward creatively
