Senior Designer

The Senior Game Designer will have extensive RTS Game Design experience and will work with the lead designer and other members of the design team and in partnership with the studio's other departments to help manage the creative vision and define the fun factor of the project, ensuring they are of the highest possible industry standards. The Senior Designer also works closely with members of the production team to execute and validate the design content and work through design revisions as needed.

Duties Include:


  • Leads, mentors and provides guidance to other game designers
  • Responsible for designing and developing products and product line concepts either independently or in collaboration with design team members
  • Designs game at interface, content and engineering levels
  • Develops concepts and treatments for products
  • Writes game scripts
  • Ensures that prototypes are developed
  • Communicates ideas with various product development personnel to solicit feedback and ensure support during prototype development
  • Creates working design documents and oversees the development of proposals for original and license-based titles
  • As required, collaborate with technical and creative Directors and Design Leads to troubleshoot, enhance or define new pipelines and processes to aid each design team's workflow



  • Must be a proven Senior Game Designer with 6+ years experience with credit on at least one major AAA or RTS game title
  • Must have exceptional leadership skills and experience leading a design team
  • Must be willing and capable of taking on a larger role in the future (project lead design / creative director)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

    Unity Engineer

    The Unity Engineer is a mid to senior level game programmer. In this role they will work closely with the lead programmer, designers, artists, and musicians with a great deal of autonomy to develop new systems and gameplay. Roles often shift, and programmers will work on a variety of tasks and can learn new specialities.

    Become a part of a new and innovating project. Petroglyph is seeking an experienced Producer to join our team. The Producer manages the production of a project and is the representative of the project for Petroglyph. The Producer is primarily responsible for budgeting, scheduling, staffing, tracking development, ensuring team deliverables are met in a timely manner. The Producer is also responsible for project relations with the publisher including marketing/PR, QA, OEM, and Licensing. The Producer uses his or her experience on the front lines to improve production and organizational processes, and mentors key talent within the project teams.

    Assistant Producer

    Petroglyph seeks an Associate Producer to be responsible for overseeing specific aspects of development on one or more projects as determined by the Senior Producer. This position supports producers and assists the team by managing and executing a variety of tasks related to the development of assigned projects or functional groups, from concept to release. Typical tasks include scheduling and tracking team member tasks and assets, reporting status, identifying and reporting risks, assisting in ensuring adherence to schedules, coordinating with resources throughout the organization to ensure successful completion of assigned projects.

  • Lead and drive the design and game-play development
  • Partner with the producer and the development team to ensure on-time, high quality delivery of the project
  • Internal management of art, design, and software development efforts, keeping the product development on schedule
  • Maintain and enhance necessary processes and procedures for product development. Participate and record notes for regular meetings with the project team to discuss status, resolve issues and share information
  • Help facilitate QA management and direction for responsible projects
  • Create, maintain, and drive the schedule assuring all tasks are completed and on time



  • Minimum of 3 years experience managing internal teams within the video game industry with 2+ shipped titles
  • Demonstrated ability to direct a team through all phases of the product development process, from pre-production to shipment
  • Proficient knowledge of one or more of the following game development disciplines: 3D art, design, programming, project management, and scheduling skills
  • Understanding of issues facing various types of game play, artistic and technical considerations, and the ability to forecast the ramifications of decisions made during the concept/pre-production phase
  • Strong written, communication, and presentation skills
  • Must be an avid gamer and have an in-depth knowledge of gaming cultures and in particular RTS titles
  • Experience managing communication between internal and external worldwide partners
