Senior Game Programmer
A programmer in this role will work closely with the lead programmer, designers, artists, and musicians with a great deal of autonomy to develop new systems and gameplay. Roles often shift, and programmers will work on a variety of tasks and can learn new specialties. The team is full of creative people who write great games and have fun doing it.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, debug and document new game systems and tools in C++
- Must create high quality, high performance code
- Follow coding standards and best practices
- Provide accurate time estimates for tasks and work within those constraints
- Work cohesively with a team of programmers, artists and designers
Requirements:
- B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 4 or more years of C/C++ experience
- 3 or more years of game industry experience, console and networking experience highly preferred
- Must have shipped at least one game title
- Must be an avid gamer with a passion for creating great games
- Ability to work independently and to be self-directing
- Able to work occasional long hours
Preferable:
- Any skills candidate can bring: multithreading, graphics, AI, UI, networking, controls, etc. are a plus

User Interface Designer
The User Interface Designer works with the Lead Artist, other Designers and Programmers to establish functional and attractive interfaces for computer games and websites. The UI Designer is responsible for creating the design of fully interactive menu systems that push the limits of 2D and/or 3D and enhances the overall aesthetic of the project.
Requirements:

The UI Designer should have a good understanding of Flash & web design, including the ability to create custom well crafted bitmaps, icons, skins, etc.

The UI Designer must demonstrate a broad range of skills and abilities, including core graphic design competencies (composition and layout, typography, color and light), drawing and/or painting skills and experience working within the constraints of console development.

Must have the ability to conceptualize, present, and execute ideas within a schedule, while actively participating in technical and artistic problem solving.

Strong knowledge of design as it relates to user-interface and ergonomics is a must.

Industry experience a plus.

Community Manager
The Community Manager will serve as the conduit between Petroglyph, our licensees and players relaying feedback to the studio and keeping players informed of current plans, policies, and updates. The Community Manager is also responsible for assisting with the development and management of the Petroglyph-related community website, organizing and promoting fan competitions, and occasionally interacting with the gaming press in a public relations capacity.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage community programs (newsletters, online chat, forums, etc.)
- Identify opportunities and provide recommendations to improve Petroglyph websites, community outreach, studio PR, and other efforts
- Develop and perform key product presentations, detailing key features and other information for internal and external partners, press, and events, as needed and in conjunction with publishers as appropriate
- Generate status reports on the state of the community, traffic to sites, mail and messages, etc
- Other responsibilities include but are not limited to, marketing/PR integration, planning, message board management, writing news stories, podcasts, updating the website, orchestrating events, and other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Knowledge and passion for the video game industry and video games in general
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with good presentation skills to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts and convey product information
- Must be a creative thinker and self-starter. Must be able to account for and manage their own time effectively
- Possess analytical strength in determining marketing strategies and opportunities within the game industry.
- BA/BS in Marketing, Business or related field preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of and some experience with Online Marketing programs such as viral campaigns, interactive Flash content, loyalty programs, etc.
- Web development experience required in order to maintain and grow the company website and offer assistance to fan sites
- Some Photoshop experience necessary, along with common-sense graphic design skills
- Experience in the game industry, or either running a fan site or participating in an online gaming clan/guild a plus

Senior 3D Artist
Petroglyph is looking for an exceptionally skilled Senior 3D Artist to welcome to our diverse, and creative team. The ideal candidate has experience creating all aspects of video game art, including modeling, texturing, rigging, and animation, with at least one primary focus. The candidate must be fully versed with 3DS Max and must be ready for technical and creative challenges while working closely with the art and programming staff.
Responsibilities:
- Create exceptional 3D Models complete with texture mapping and Normal Mapping
- Excellent ability to make LODs
- Models must look exceptional while working within the technical specs of our games
- Skill level is considered ‘masterful’ in one or more specific areas of Game Art development
- The candidate is self-directed and self motivated to make great games
- Takes initiative and resolves technical and creative issues as they arise
- Communicates solutions to their Lead and to the Artists involved with that particular process
- Experience in Leading (or subleading) a video game team (for potential growth within Petroglpyph)
- Has the ability to Mentor other artists on the team on an as need basis as directed by the Lead Artist.
Requirements:
- 3+ years industry experience using 3DS Max and Photoshop
- Expert in creating efficient low polygon models
- Ability to create high-quality PhotoShop textures and Normal Maps
- Must work well in a team environment and be open to direction
- Have passion in making great games
Desired:
- Have shipped a AAA title as a Senior Artist or Lead Artist
- Expert in rigging and animating
- Experience with proprietary tools is a plus
- Adaptability to learn proprietary tools and have a strong technical background using art tools
- Drawing ability with an understanding of human anatomy and/or architectural elements
- Experience in MudBox and/or ZBrush
