Hark, hark, the demo is live, on Live!

What does this bad boy include? Glad you asked!

It's time for another
Thursday Throwdown, and this time we're taking it to the 360. Here's your chance to game with the developers and see how well we handle a controller.
Tonight!
5:00 PM PST (midnight, GMT)
Universe at War 360CUSTOM matches
Euryidium (Sr Designer) and I will be both joining and hosting games, and I wouldn't be surprised to see others from the dev team around as well. Jump on and say hi!

Petrolution interviews Ross
The recently relaunched
Petrolution.net has just put up an interview with Ross Simpson, an upstanding member of the Petroglyph code team and current maintainer of the developer toolset.
Question 9: It seems Petroglyph really is making an effort to support
the modding community this time round. Do you know why this is?
We were pleasantly surprised by the plethora and variety of mods that
have been released for SW:EaW. So why not capitalize on it?
UaW is a very modifiable game. UaW was designed from the start in such a
way that our designers and artists could rapid prototype new units and
game mechanics to see which ideas worked and which didn't. So it really
isn't a stretch for us to want to take that power and hand it to the end
user as well.
Check out
the full interview.

QUOTE
March 25, 2008 - SEGA of America, Inc. today announced that Universe at War: Earth Assault for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft has shipped to retailers in North America. Developed by Petroglyph, this combat-intensive real-time strategy (RTS) game thrusts players into an epic struggle to prevent total annihilation of life on planet Earth. Universe at War: Earth Assault supports Microsoft's Games for Windows Live initiative and allows cross-platform play between Windows-based PC and Xbox 360. In an effort to even the playing field, cross-platform play will be made available via free download in early April 2008.
