I responded to the post on the first page actually.

We have looked into the issue, and the information was sent to the producer and programmers when it was apparent that more than one person was having the issue.

Uninstall the game then re-install and use LIVE to get the leaked Patch 3. This may solve the black screen problem as patch 3 (even though it never officially made it to certification) has a lot of fixes in it.

Uh what are you talking about? Since the xbox patch came out, patch 3 came out. It's the same version.

Just out of interest do you know whats causing it as there seems to be no common system between all thats having the problem.

We are still looking into it.  I personally have not been able to repeat the issue here or at home using two brand new accounts.

I tried the save file that was posted earlier, I couldn't duplicate it.

I'm also having this problem, except its with the Hierarchy.
Same black screen, with the mission continuing in the background like I never finished it. (I can still select and order my units to do stuff, I just can't see what I'm doing.)
 DxDiag.txt   43.9K   3 downloads incase it is needed.

I also have a save of right before the end of the mission, if that is needed as well.

Just reinstalled my computer, this time on windows vista ult 64 bit, same problems happening.

out of curiosity what are your graphic settings on ken?

This still needs to be moved - more and more ppl are turning up on the Tech forums asking about the same problem (or its Hierarchy equivalent).

For my part, I still haven't got past this problem, and I've updated all my drivers (yes, mobo drivers and all). System specs:

AMD X2 3600+
2GB DDR2
320GB HDD
HD3850 256MB video
Windows XPH SP2

Gonna try that gamesave, bet I have the same problem at the end of the Hierarchy campaign

Resolution is 1280 x 768 @ 60Hz
Anti aliasing is on 4X

Has anyone got this problem who has not uninstalled/reinstalled the game before getting to this point? I havent got to the end of the novus campaign in one install, so I am tempted to trying restarting and going all the way through.

Update: Tried my saves on my girl friends computer, same thing happens. Shes got an Athlon 64 3400, 2 gig of ram and a ati x850xt on windows xp media center.

Hey sorry to double post but I solved this problem by deleteing all my saves restarting the campaign. I am now happily playing the next campaign. It seems the new patch does not like something about the old saves.

So yeah, I had this exact same problem and I am running XP.

I suppose it could have something to do with old savegame files?

I wonder if I make a new save game file then delete all the old ones if that would work?

In any case thanks for the save game file.  I don't want to play the whole game through again.

I hope the same thing won't happen for the Hierarchy campaign ending.

Real sorry to bump this thread, did anyone ever resolve this? I am having this problem Windows 7 64bit... :\ frustrating.. Would rather not use the save game file, as by the sounds of it I'm going to go thru the same process later on..
