I love those moments in music where you hear them and it feels like an explosion's gone off in your skull...examples:

Sonata Arctica: The Cage
I do not have another year in me, you've gotta set me free *Explosion* The dream is alive...

Sum 41: Still Waiting
So tell me, what would you say, I'd say it's time to listen *Explosion* So am I still waiting...

Sonic Syndicate: Only Inhuman
Will I ever learn to treasure the ones I care for? *Explosion* Will I ever find my refuge now..?

How do you mean? As in an actual connection with a line from the song, or in the instrumental sense?

The examples were from parts of the song where I got that effect; it could be either the lyrics or the instrumental. I dunno, it's a bit hard to define...

It's kinda weird; I'm a metalhead who's 2nd favorite music genre is Orchestral/symphony/classical music. Hell, I'm gonna start writing my own symphonies once I learn how (I have all this orchestral music in my head with no way to put it down on paper.).

Presumably Metal is his favourite genre and the one he listens too most, and then it's classical. Makes sense to me.

My order for genres would probably be:

Power Metal (favourite)
Death Metal
Punk Rock
Doom Metal/Symphonic Metal (tied)
Hard Rock
Thrash Metal
Classical (especially film and game soundtracks)
(this point downwards marks the end of stuff I listen to)
Indie Rock (Except for I Predict a Riot, by Kaiser Chiefs, which I still like)
Black Metal
Country
Reggae
Pop
Gospel/Soul
Funk
Rap

Indeed. Can't wait to see what he says to try and prove us wrong...

And Canad, Heavy Metal isn't a sub genre, as it's just one of the names of the entire genre (it's either Metal or Heavy Metal). I have a huge chart that you should find interesting...

Fair enough... I'm not a metal expert like you; I just listen to it.

I'll look at the chart when the summer holidays begin. Which is in 8 hours. Now I've gotta go to school.

Edit eight hours later: I think I meant Thrash Metal, actually. I'll go change that...

Did you preview a song by Arch Enemy? What one(s)?

Arch Enemy are a decent band; I've heard most of the songs they've got available on deezer.com (the main streaming music player I use) and, although I was too lazy in the past to download any of their songs I probably will before I go to Australia tomorrow.

Let's see... My favotite band ever is Killswitch Engage (A metalcore[In otherwords, new wave] band). Also, I like Shadows Fall, As I lay Dying, Metallica, and All that Remains...

I have a very broad music taste... As long as it's not country, jazz, s@#!-hop, R&B, etc.

Decent? More like plain awesome! They're my 3rd favourite band of all time, and are within my Top 5.

Broad perhaps and with a very minor taste of metal, but nothing to consider yourself a thrashing, long-haired, swearing, angry, head-banging metalhead. Such as Yours Truly :p.

In Nottingham dialect, "Decent" basically means "Plain Awesome" and because my standards in Music are so picky, even if it didn't, a band I considered decent would be plain awesome to everyone else.

Yes, they are a really good band. They also have a really cool name.

Agreed about the chart.

Also agreed about Power Metal; it's just so...so...awesome. Symphonic Metal would be better if it didn't always have a female vocalist; I mean, I know that it's what makes symphonic metal symphonic metal, but I prefer male vocalists and symphonic metal instrumental is really good. Ah well, it's still one of my favourite branches of Metal, below Power and Death and tying with Doom.

I've also discovered that good bands, as a whole, begin with S:
Sonata Arctica
Sum 41
Sonic Syndicate
Sabaton
Soundtracks (well, not a Band, but judgement day will come before I stop listening to Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Halo 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean)

Second best band letter is A:
Arch Enemy
Avenged Sevenfold
Apocalyptica

you don't like Jazz?! Then you'd probably not be too into Funk then huh? I listen to all musics, country is the only one I am not too into. There's something about it that's depressing.
