Here's hoping they put the new engine to good use. I wanna see Gauss weapons disintegrate things! I also hope they rework the CC system... Namely, units getting attacked by a CC unit shouldn't be able to fight back with their heavy bolters, nor just turn and walk away...

Wooah dude, I know you didn't like COH, and that's fine. Everyone has his/her opinion. I didn't say you had to like COH. >_>

I was just saying how succesful COH is, the people who didn't like it said "it was yet another WW2 game", which is true.

No, but spontaneously throwing in some scores that a bunch of review sites have for the game made you imply that you were trying to force Talon to change his mind on the game.

I love CoH though.

As for this game, the screens look great.

As video games continue to take audiences away from television, we expect to see more TV news stories warning parents about the corrupting influence of interactive entertainment. But this represents a new level of recklessness. Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a difference in the world, but the Marines don't have that problem. People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Lo there do I see my father
Lo there do I see my mother
my sisters and my brothers

Lo there do I see the line of
my people back to the beginning

Lo they do call to me
They bid me take my place among
them in the halls of Vallhalla
Where the brave may live forever

As a reward for this you get a Suppression Rifle
Wait, what?

Pleeeeease Relic, you've got like 12 Codexes worth of material to use... Pleeeeease, don't just make up random crap like you have too many times in DoW1... That 'suppression rifle' could easily have been a "Master Crafted Autocannon" or "Techpriest Blessed Heavy Bolter" or something...

More than 12.

Off the Top of my Head:

Codex Space Marines
Codex Dark Angels - Includes at least 5 of its Sucessor Chapters known as "the Unforgiven" owing to the Fallen Dark Angels who Now serve Chaos.
Codex Blood Angels - Includes Sucessor Chapters Flesh Tearers, Blood Drinkers, Lamenters and Angels Sanguine
Codex Black Templars
Codex Space Wolves

(those are the released ones)
However within Codex Space Marines are the rules for
Imperial Fists, Ultramarines, Salamanders, Crimson Fists, Iron Hands, Ravens Guard

I think what Raidx meant was different weapons not different space marine chapters. ;)

Anyways, I think DOW 2 will be a little slower compared to DOW 1. :)

Also, IG are no match to Tyranids.

Tyranids >>>>>>>> IG

Well, they have to balance the game Gorays. The Tyranids automatically winning against the IG in a 1v1 match is pretty IMBA.

Ofcourse they have to balance it, but Tyranids are bad a$$.

I hope Relic gives 3 Relic units per faction, that would be sweet. :D

Orkz could get Squiggy, Battle wagon and Battle fortress.

Space marines could get Landraider, ?, ?.

Can't wait for the game. Sad thing there is no base building. :( . Btw how the dutch mag was so lucky. It should have been GFW mag or PCGamer or both but a dutch mag?.

I think there is some base building, but not much.

Idk, too early to tell.

But if it's less on Base Building...then it's really less of a Dawn of War game...cause Base building was something required in DoW. Now this feels like one of those WWII RTS's where you get a small group of soldiers and have to do something hard...

I think Relic is making little adjustments to make the game better? IDK

But they did say units are more important than buildings. And more focus was on making units and squads unique.

Base building was fairly minimal in Dawn of War, anyway.  Emphasis was placed on combat, so not having much base building isn't exactly going to make the game drastically different.

No base building?  They'd better go all-out and make it an RTT, then, because if they rip off WiC's system I'm going to be seriously pissed.

So DOW 2 camp is going to be co-op camp, does that mean it will be like RA 3 co-op online camp or linear camp or what?

Chessrules, we don't know yet, we are just assuming. :)

I imagine it'll be a meta map campaign since in a recent XFire chat one of the designers said that they preferred those over linear story modes. The campaign will likely allow you to team up with other players similar to Battle for Middle-Earth II's War of the Ring mode. Don't take my word for it, though.

Garrisoning buildings...... that will change the gameplay a bit. Hopefully units get promoted too.

Each Codex has different special Weapons.  IE Black Templars have the Crusader Pattern Land Raider, Blood Angels have the Baal Predator, Space Wolves have the Long Fangs Devastator Squad
