Each Codex has different special Weapons.  IE Black Templars have the Crusader Pattern Land Raider, Blood Angels have the Baal Predator, Space Wolves have the Long Fangs Devastator Squad

The Dark Angels have the Venerable Dreadnought.

I think what Raidx meant was different weapons not different space marine chapters. ;)

Anyways, I think DOW 2 will be a little slower compared to DOW 1. :)

Also, IG are no match to Tyranids.

Tyranids >>>>>>>> IG

Tell that to my TT Death Korps of Krieg.

Speaking of Metamaps, how is the campaign in in Soul Storm? Single planet, or Solar System?

Nonsense. For every one that you kill, God-knows-how-many-more take their place. 'Tis why the estimated numbers of Tyranids that remain at the rim of the galaxy are virtually incalculable, and are ever-expanding. If the hive fleets were to actually mobilise as a concentrated force, Black Templars would become what the Lamenters and Angels of Absolution are now: Dwindling shadows of their former glory with diminished stocks of gene-seed, progressively overrun and consumed by the Hive Mind.

The main horror of the Tyranids is not only the fact that there is no possible method to determine exactly how ancient they could be as a race, but their origin is also unknown. They came through the Warp is all that is known, but how many galaxies or expanses of space have they devoured in their wake? How many infinite numbers of different sentient biomorphs could there be existing that simply have not been encountered yet? How well does the 40K universe stand in its testing against the Tyranid incursion? Previous conquests could make this encounter seem only a fraction of the expanse at which the Tyranids could have spent fighting its food.

The Imperium faces a concerning front not only against the overwhelming forces of the existing aliens they face, but also against time. Eventually, they will be out-evolved, as the potential for evolution and adaptation with Tyranids is exponentially greater than that of Man. And that's just one race amongst a myriad of others that have the potential to bring them down for good.

Relative to DoW 2, I just want to be able to make sandbag barriers out of the enemy's corpses for Chaos. And Bloodletters. That would be too awesome...

And subtle changes that would make the game seem a bit more like 40K, like being able to get and make armoured transports for your main units. For example, a Battlewagon for the Ork HQ for example, or a Venerable Dreadnought for your Space Marine Commander if he were to die earlier on the field of battle.

This new approach to how units are built and fielded in battle will probably help ease the inclusion of Tyranids though, so here's hoping it all works out suitably.

I disagree. Interestingly enough, I hate alot of RTS's skirmish. Despite the stronghold missions in Dark Crusade...it was really boring. I mean...REALLY BORING. The only RTS's that I still play Skirmish is...AoE 1-3, C&C, StarCraft, WarCraft, and Rise of Nations. Really Metamap screams out Skirmish...and I do hate a lot of skirmish modes in RTS...

So, uh, shouldn't you agree then? Storyline > Metamap means Storyline greater than MetaMap.

Nicely said Gizbang, YOU DON'T want to face Tyranids. The only race that could beat the Tyranids are Orkz, but the Orkz are dum and fight among each other too many times.

Should the Tyranids Hive be the HQ for Tyranids?

No it'd either be the Hive Tyrant or the Carnifex.   I'd think its more likely to be the Carnifex with the Hive Tyrant and Tyrant Guard being a special unit.

Well naturally, there are going to be some races that are left high-and-dry when it comes to the subject of transport, since they don't function that way. However, using the various abilities each race has in 40K, I'm sure it could be balanced out appropriately.

I'd probably say the Hive Tyrant is more likely IMO, since the Carnifex is little more than an instrument of destruction, like a Dreadnought. The Hive Tyrant; however, is an influential factor in controlling synapse and the orchestration of the attack. The only problem would be that it's more of a late-game unit, and would use a range of psychic abilities much like the Eldar Farseer.

As such, I'm leading more towards the Broodlord perhaps for being the HQ choice for Tyranids initially.

Broodlord could be Tyranids hero unit. Carnifex could be Tyranids relic unit.

So who do you think created Tyranids?? No one knows, C'TAN would be my answer. C'TAN created Necorns as far as I know.

The Tyranids are a Race from outside the Known Galaxy.  Usually cutting a swathe of destruction out of the Eastern Fringe and into Ultima Segmentum

It's stated pretty clearly in the Necron codex that the Outsider is inside the Dyson sphere, which the Tyranids actually actively AVOIDED when sweeping through :p

The Tyranids find it hard to kill machines.  So they go for the weak human planets.  When they'd created a foothold they'd have time to breed new troops.

Thing is that the Ultramarines tend to bitchslap them back as soon as they enter the Galaxy!

When the Imperial Guard is added I would like to see a wider variety of armors I'm tired of Cadian Shock Troopers. I mainly want a Death Korps of Krieg/Armageddon Steel Legion style armor.

I would like to see more than Chaos Undivided.

I want the Space Marines chapters closer to their respective Codex's unit and equipment lists.

In shorter words I want more variety with playable units.
