Seriously. Those classes are weird. FFXIV has an equipment based class system, you only pick your beginner set. You could change your fishing rod to an axe whenever you feel like it and thus also change class. But the camera sucks and the gameplay does so too.

Well, yeah. Free WoW. Because I have played the game previously for like 3 years or so and have been away for more than a year now they are attempting to buy me back with a 7 day, no strings attached, free 'anniversary' gift. After that I could likely also upgrade my account to a Wrath of the Lich King 10-day trial. At least, for now, I got 7 days of free time where I can do everything. Except for WotLK stuff, not that it bothers me yet seeing I am starting from scratch.

After THAT, I'll let my parents pay for it. Duh. (If only...)

Characters of all levels can complete the quests leading up to the final event. You need to be 75 though to actually participate.

I guess a release date is edging closer and closer. The 4.0.1 patch went up on the Test Realms today. No Cataclysm-only things are included. However spell changes and interface improvements and new gameplay mechanics for several classes are available for testing. The new talent system is also up and running.

Oh boo hoo, the kiddies have to learn how to get somewhere by themselves.  Though I suppose one can still teleport straight to instances?

Indeed you can. However, the new instances introduced with Cataclysm requires you to actually visit the entrances before you can enter through the Dungeon Finder.

Ridiculous isn't it! Well, to be honest if they remove them everywhere I'd be a little sad. Having to fly from one end of the game to the other for 15 minutes like five times in a row isn't exactly interesting...

Seriously, here's hoping they make every cinematic like this. I mean... Even for a Goblin cinematic it came over reasonably serious and it just looked good for WoW standards.

Rumour has it the release date i December 7th. Someone apparently found a reference in the beta files saying the next arena season starts on December 14th. And Blizzard has already stated that they plan to release Cataclysm about a week before the new season starts. You do the math.

Not to be cynical, but if those standards are your definition of "epic", you must use the word like it's as common as candy...you know, like actual WoW Epic-level gear...

It didn't seem any better than the Wrath Gate cinematic made 2 years ago, and that in itself was an unsatisfying conclusion which resulted in the Lich King sauntering off on the verge of diarrhoea. And as we all know, it was the only in-game cinematic you got for 3 patches.

Still, if a friend of mine is still playing WoW come Cataclysm, I'll ask him what he thinks of the whole thing. Based on current observations though, it looks like it will be the same thing experienced before: Migration of population into new content areas, newly-determined general loitering zones, older content reduced to ghost towns.
