It wasn't a contest.

It was a joke, in light of people saying what they had and what they hadn't.

Also Ratchet and Clank isn't a kid's game; it's just aimed at a more general audience. Just because kids can play it doesn't mean it's only for them. That said I haven't tried it myself so I can't be sure.

It is a kid's game in that it's marketed for kids. That doesn't translate to, "Ratchet & Clank is a game that should only be played by kids", however.

You're probably right. I haven't really studied this yet and I don't know that much about the games. I was just guessing.

In other news, I got my HDMI cable (worked when tested on xbox 360!)and Uncharted but I'm still waiting for the actual ps3.

o_o; Be happy you didn't get a good game whilst you're waiting for your PS3..that'd be killing.

Really dei? Really, seriously take off the fan-boy goggles and stick to the subject and stop being your fanboy-ness about the PS3 and it's games. We get it you don't like the Sony's PS3, and you're intellectual capacity allows limited room for anything more then one platform to be acceptable.

So Noah, what kind of TV do you have? Also congratulations on the purchase. Make sure to check out the PlayStation Store, some good download games there. I don't know where you're from but if it's a US region there's some good stuff, they've even picked up a developer to make games specifically for Home. Nathan is pretty nicely developed character and the story is good, hope the first game is a good first impression.

Well, now that's pretty strange way to determine if a game is a kids game.... I'd guess 90% of games are marketed toward kids and a good chunk surely are not kids games. From what I see in the gaming industry a game like Ratchet and Clank, Jack and Daxter, Sly Cooper is what goes for a comedy game in the industry.

Love how the biggest fan boy next to Substance calls me a fan boy. XD

Seriously, I don't like Tomb Raider nor Indiana Jones nor do I like Uncharted, perhaps it's because of the former but whatever you blame it on, I don't consider Uncharted 1 [Mind you, I never played 2, perhaps they fixed some things] to be as amazing as people claimed it was.

Perhaps the people just saw potential in it which blossomed in the sequel but as far as I'm concerned, give me Ratchet & Clank any day over Uncharted. o_o Srsly d00d.

Hence all the casual crap talk about bringing games to more mature audiences and the releases of titles such as Star Craft 2, Mafia 2, GTA, Uncharted, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Call of Doody, Gears of War, Two Worlds, Fable 3, Persona 3 Portable, Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, Crackdown 2, Monkey Island, ArmA, Blacklight: Tango down, Kane & Lynch, Hydrophobia, Dead Rising 2, Divinity 2, Cthulhu Saves the World [sounds funny, probably E rated], H.A.W.X 2, R.U.S.E., Halo:Reach, Front Mission Evolved and Metal Gear Solid Rising.

And that's just for the following 2 months. I only saw 7 or so DS titles that seemed kiddy aimed.

I'm pretty sure adolescents don't take kindly to being called "kids". [Other than the hormonal reasons]

Biggest fanboy next to Ghostly? For one, neither Ghostly or myself are "fanboys."
Unlike the likes of you--> I don't go to every thread about Microsoft's X-box 360 or games on the 360 and spill bias opinions full of unnecessary hate, based on just personal taste, just because I can. If I have comments on something I back it up with facts or state that it's solely opinion based. If I have questions I ask. But you post just to say negative if a PS thread coems up.

Judging solely based on what you just said you don't particularly like Action Adventure games very much. But once again instead of not saying anything or saying it's a personal thing you flat out say Uncharted is a bad game, giving the illusion that your personal taste in games is fact. Fanaticism at it's strongest, any reason to put something down taken.

And each one isn't targeted at an adult, they're marketed toward kids and teens more so that's where the market lies, all games are really marketed to the younger crowds. It's just the way it is.

I love Action Adventure, just not the whole 'vagabond/vigilante hunting for treasure' archetype. XD

And I'm the fan boy? The guy who said he wished he had a PS3 for Demon's Souls? [Which I now do] and the one who actually bought Metal gear Solid 4 before getting a PS3[granted, that's MGS fanboyism]. The one who works in a game store and daily tells people to get a PS3 if they want a console that will last longer but if they want a bigger selection of games to go for the 360?

Seriously, at least I don't attack people when I don't agree with their opinion. Seriously Fox. Tone it down. No need to lash out everytime I post something.

Edit: Hell, I even like the Kevin Butler commercials. Also, despite being one of the guys who likes Ghostly, he -is- incredibly hateful towards the 360 and it's exclusives.

Then let us adequately define what a "kid" is so you are not left confused: An individual who is between the stages of birth and puberty.

Having said that, there are specific conditions that place games of such a calibre into that category, namely no blood or gratuitious violence of any kind, no coarse language, no drug use and no adult themes. Perhaps you are mistaking the irresponsibility of families to keep their children within the specified age level with actual intended audience demographics.

So you honestly associate games where stabbing people in the back with concealed weapons, snapping people's necks, or chainsawing through enemies is a common strategy, as the same level of classification in games that are for the most part, violently sterile? You should come to Australia and work for the Classification Board, then we could just rate everything as 10+.

That a game is open for children because it bases itself on Pixar-quality innocence does not make it any less of a game than its more mature-rated counterparts. I disagree with your numerical exaggeration of 90%, and would probably place the real number at between 30-50%.

Well it finally came today. I am now a proud owner of all 3 current gen consoles (but my PC just broke! :0)

I didn't have much time unfortunately, so all I really did was set it up, waste time trying to think of an ID and browse the store.

Now then, which demos should I download and which games should I buy.

I don't see why you'd bother asking that question, unless you were talking to yourself in text. There has already been a wealth of suggestions, and I assumed you bought the console under the pretense that there were specific titles you wanted to play.

Yeah I was talking to myself, don't worry about it. Anyway I've been busy lately so I haven't gotten a whole lot of time to play it. I've tried a few demos and today I started playing Uncharted. So far this seems like a good purchase. Thanks to everyone for the guidance.

We're proud to celebrate this occasion by slicing a few dollars off the price of Fat Princess, down to $7.49 as part of the Summer Sale on the PlayStation Network. Grab it fast since the sale ends on Tuesday, 8/10. We're also whooping it up by releasing our very first Fat Princess single: Castle Intruder!
There's a start if you have internet connection, Fat Princess is awesome. Well since I posted this here's a couple of games that are pretty great. Demons Souls, 3D Dot Game Heroes if you like games that are like old-school games.

Fat Princess is hilarious, I got War Hawk and Fat Princess ages ago when they both were 7.49 euros, Demon's Souls is a must but I'm afraid 3D Dot Game Heroes, despite being a fun concept and visually amazing, will only last you a short moment. It's like playing an Elder Scroll games with cheats [gameplay is way different, just using this as a comparison how overpoweredness ruins your game], you're overpowered and you're more screwing around with your gigantic sword than you are playing it seriously.

Nice LoZ homage though.

Well I'm a big Zelda fan so I was thinking about maybe getting it. Not sure, though now that you say that.

yes, I've heard similar especially from reviewers. To me it seems very personal if you screw around in a game or not. But from playing it I've learned a few things.

First you can get different swords and you start with a basic sword that isn't gigantic right off the bat you can choose to weaken yourself to a bare minimum instead of using the big monster (although many times you'll want to or need to).
Second, The sword that is gigantic is upgradeable to the point of being super powerful, so far I've only added 1, no 2, upgrades and it's quite challenging just beat the 4th level I believe.
Third, It's like old-school Zelda in the way that the further you get and better stuff you get (or upgrade) the easier the outside, main world, gets; main quest castle-like things on the other hand seem to be quite difficult. Each area does get progressively harder as expected in any game.
Fourth after your first bout of the game, starting over gives a hard mode that is, according to my brother, painfully hard; at this point you can choose to use a new character and not move anything over from your old essentially making it even harder.
And Fifth if you played the old Zelda games (NES mostly) I think you'll quite enjoy the game. It feels quite similar yet modernized and changed enough to be unique.

It really isn't super easy mode like using lots of cheats there are choices you can make to make it more difficult if you like. Or just play it for fun---> It's like an old game from the NES era... made to be fun, not gripping, not suspenseful, not overly serious, not emotionally compelling, just a great form of entertainment.

They also go out of their way to make fun of older games, newer games. It has it's own kind of humor you may or may not get depending on your knowledge of games. Theres a character creator or you can go to their website and download characters. I mean who can turn down the chance to play as The Doctor! And at its current price point it's worth it vs almost all 60 games in my opinion.

Finally, you give an explanation rather than a scolding when I'm being slightly negative, anyway, I'm just waiting for it to get lowered in price. I mean seriously..it's more of a 40 euros game than a 60 euros game. [60 is the standard price, 40/50 euros is the price of most PC games]

I play it in the store now and then though.

I always give long-winded explanations: most people ignore it cause it's "TL:DR" material, or because I called you out on what you said instead of ignoring it. It also depends on how amazingly bias or completely uninformed the poster I'm replying to is.

I picked mine up at a Gamestop here on their big summer sale for $29.99 US. (was definitely worth that price even $39.99 would have been ok but the sale happened when I was gonna buy it so I got it for cheaper) I really thought it was retarded that EU it's a $60 game when their price point was $40 originally. The publisher there is really gunnin' for that cash.
