Is anyone stil playing UaW?

Anyway, I logged in the other day, around 7:00PM EST to find... a multiplayer wasteland. There was literally no one on. I sat waiting for something like 45 minutes and finally got a ranked match.
Is the community dead? Does anyone still play? I would like to get some games in, but am thinking that this will be unlikely given the apparent dearth of active players.
I know there are literally tons of other RTSes that I could jump into (DOW2, CNC3, Red Alert3, Halo Wars, BfME, and the list goes on) but, as I said, this has been one of the most purely fun RTS games I have ever played, and I wanted to see if anyone was still involved in UaW multiplayer.
Thanks,

Still, I recently got a new computer that can run it without lag so (time and turn permitting) I'll be trying to get online more than I did before.

I only come when I notice there are enough people on my friend list active in uaw for a game.
(often this is just alex and vic, along with possibly volc [and even this has reduced to once a wee, if lucky])
Current uploads: Hierarchy's New Walkers mod, Hierarchy Mini Walkers mod, Modified Units mod, Map Pack 1 (4x maps), Map Pack 2 (3x maps), Map Pack 3 (5x maps), Bizarrio World, Map Pack 4 (4x maps), Global Territories Mod

*edit
Wow, just fought AKA MACK10 and it was EPIC. I didn't destroy a single of his walkers, meaning I need more practice before I'm ready for the big boy's arena, but I put up a decent fight before he trampled my Masari base.

I just got back into Universe at War, and just put the collectors Universe At War Faceplate back on my XBOX360. I am ranked 211, and can keep up with the PC players. send me a friend invite thru XBOXLIVE/games for windows.

Uaw is not dead yet there are more xbox users online at this hour. Mostly they are newbies but some show promise, i wish i could say the same thing about pc users but for now xbox players will do.

Here's the UaW general forum at Steam: http://forums.steamp...splay.php?f=332
And here's the gamertag/steam id exchange thread: http://forums.steamp...d.php?t=1089958
I don't think many of us that bought the game on Steam recently have migrated here, and after I heard about this place from gamereplays, I figured I'd drop by and introduce myself and get more people to add to my friends list. So, my gamertag is Mordarto. Please feel free to add me and request a match whenever.

Some of the newer players in fact have been quite good (Mordarto in fact beat my novus in a CTW.. good job!)
See you on the weekend guys

I am only playing again cause I feel like it. In a month I've most likely quit.

It's a good game with a sucky publisher? That's like saying, "What's the point of watching Bruce Lee's movies (Or [insert movie/show you like but is no longer going anywhere]), he's dead and not making anymore"

...and that differs from other games in what manner?
Don't people play games only when they feel like it? I've certainly never heard of a guy playing a game against his will...

It angers me how this game did not recieve the glory it deserved, too... And for stupid reasons, the biggest one being Microsoft's windows live pay per month crap...
But instead of being pessimistic and bringing the whole community down, try to do something about it! Just playing helps, as the more people playing the more fun it is.
I decided to push the Conqueror Cups (That's what the UaW cups have been named) because I couldn't just stand by and watch this awesome game die. I could have gone on the forums and been a pessimist, but instead I did something I think a lot of UaW players will enjoy. Who doesn't want to play a game he likes, while having a chance to win money off it? Plus see recent replays of the elite players or maybe even play vs one of them himself?

PG made the call to go for GFWL (as a consequence of making it a console RTS on x360) and they also picked the publisher, so they have some fault too.
Plus the gameplay balance isn't very pleasing. You get these hideously OP multirole units like the field inverter, which on top of insane damage can even attack aircraft, etc. Plus you have things like map-dependent resources which make Hierarchy either UP or OP depending which map they're on, which screws up the prospects of fair fights.
I don't know how much "glory" the game deserved since it's not very glorious to begin with. as a guy who looked into the stuff behind the scenes while I was modding the game I can tell it's not really that great a game.

Vs Masari, it's better to do field inverters and some wave amplifiers than pure field inverters, because the inverters do crappy damage to peacebringers in dark mode compared to amplifiers.
Vs Hierarchy, some wave amplifiers are also good, rather than pure inverters, because they kill walker hardpoints A LOT faster.
In Nouvs vs Novus I haven't found use for the amplifier, since its low health and way of attack makes it vulnerable to the field inverter.
