Although this article's meant as funny, I have to say I see these techniques used more often than I wished:

So gentlemen, please take note of how *NOT* to argue ^_^

Anyone else ever see any of these techniques used?

Hah, yeah so true. And it happens so often.

Myself I tend to use number 2 a lot especially on games when people are insulting me or a friend.

Hotel California happens so often here. :p

Yup, I remember using that one way back in my days on Lucasarts. I had an army of sock accounts and I would use them on both sides of the battles. Some to back me up. Others to make the opposing side look stupid.

Though I feel happy to say that to my memory at least I'm not guilty of most of those. I think the ones that I've been mostly guilty of are 5, 9, and 11. Though #5 I haven't done on here. (as far as you all know)  :ph34r:

It's illogical to say that a Mac is better than a PC, because a Mac itself is a PC.

I think another one that ought to be added is 'Walls of Irrelevant Text'. It can be a clever one. Who's going to want to take the time to read through all of that? And if they ignore it you can score points by claiming that they ignored what you said!
