I've finally decided to release my modded stuff. With my graphics card busted I'm pretty much unable to play UAW anymore so my modding progress is indefinitely halted.

In the zip file is one single Valdezmod folder; place the folder in
Sega\Universe At War Earth Assault\Mods\

A large majority of the changes are particle fx. There are however some gameplay changes and rebalancing here and there.

0.0 How does a graphics card break? It sounds awful. Is it expensive to get a new one?

My old one broke when the fan was somehow snapped off >_> (it still did work though...but uaw wouldn't run well at all)
I'm guessing there are other ways they can break though.

I have a laptop, so I'm not familiar with what a video card physically manifests as. When you say "break", you mean it overheated, or it snapped? How did it still function, I'm also curious to know. My experience with computers is it works all the way or not at all.

fan was hanging out of it's socket attached by a wire  :P
The circuit board itself was fine, but since the fan broke its cooling was far less effective.

I didn't really check my GPU to find out the details, all I knew was that the PC wasn't registering it (it wasnt listed on the devices), and it was as though the thing wasn't even plugged in at all.

It was really sad. The GPU croaked mere weeks before I was to get Mass Effect 2. Now I have to play Mass Effect 2 on my sucky Acer Aspire 4937G laptop whose GPU has a pathetic 512 MB of memory and a speed of a whopping 640 mhz...

Anyone tried the mod yet? Are the particles ok?

I forgot to mention it  , but yeah, it's wonderful! (nice caution sign on the ME, loled when I first saw it and thought of the help it would be  )

Yeah that caution sign was something I did for lulz when I first started out editing decals. The other notable decal in there is the Hierarchy targeting decal which is no longer a nuke symbol but a targeting reticle.

Be sure to explore all the particle fx in the mod! Some may be pretty subtle, like the water wake fx for AM Tanks and Amplifiers moving over water (it didn't work for Phase Tanks) while some like the all new Matter Storm fx are so epic you need battlecam to view the whole particle on screen. And of course, drop an atomic cow or two. It's the perfect way to benchmark your PC for UAW! (over 500 particle on-screen in a 20 seecond interval :D )
