Still though. I was a little surprised by how slow he said the killing went. 7 Billion or 7 million deaths in one week? Pah-lease! Surely the Reapers could have blown up whole Earth by then.
7 million in London alone.

Plus, maybe it's not only destruction they seek.

Also, time's not of the essence.

okkkkay... so that leaves less than 1 million in London assuming population then is roughly similar to now.

maybe they wanna have another shot at the human reaper. Moar harvesting. But wait... then they would harvest 7 million, not kill 7 million...

I do think though thast the reapers reap the worlds, not destroy it. Probably need the civilizations of the world in some way.

Also I think that the husks were already pressent as seen through the scope of the sniper.  besides that I believe the humans are hiding pretty much in underground bomb shelters and stuff like that, which prevent most deaths.

Perhaps they want another go at making a human-reaper. In which case harvesting humies would take priority over just killing everyone.

Wah its so much more reasuring to know that if ME2's reaper had survived, it would have the worthy Yeoman Chambers genetics in it.

Hah, a Kelly Chambers reaper.

Well, technically that is their end goal. No?
Reapers are essentially civilization-milkshakes so I would assume that the creation of those human reapers (Which in Mass Effect 2 did not look even remotely like other reapers, larva-stage I suppose) is eventually what they are going for.

If that's the case though, why did Sovereign say that we humans can't grasp why this cycle needs to continue? It said that they don't need us as resources.

Hopefully BioWare won't cop out on this one...

Well.. that could of course purely be for intimidation and superiority purposes. They tend to have that a lot after all. But yes, BioWare has a lot of loose ends they got to solve.

But didn't the VI at whatever that planet was say the reapers reaped and did not destroy? Even used the protheans as bait or infaltrator agents?

Yes. Well, a combination of both, mostly.
The Reapers initially destroyed all core civilization 'systems' so to say. Took out the leadership or any means of resistance, had infiltrators within Prothean society to speed things along and turned most of the people into husks and materials for whatever purpose they use that for (Likely for Reaper maintenance and creating more Reapers) they then returned to Dark Space leaving the galaxy empty of intelligent life waiting for the next evolutionary circles. With Sovereign, the Mass Relays and the Citadel behind. (Plus whatever Prothean ruins they didn't manage to scavenge/destroy/find and that destroyed Reaper in ME2)

I suppose the Collectors are a nice example of some of their Reaper 'recycling'.

Well, leaving the galaxy devoid of intelligent live is untrue, we wre already there 50.000 years a go and are AS intelligent as we were back then, now. We just have a better understanding of the universe, as far as we can have a better understanding of it.

I think they just leave the galaxy devoid of any greater civilizations.

That's actually Bioware's way of saying that people who hate the eventual reasoning, calling it lame of cheesy etc, are simply UNABLE TO GRASP it.

I do hate it that the two first posts of this thread do not really add something to id and keep preventing me from being the original poster, as it should have been in the first place >.>

I'd say the link to the trailer is rather important :P

If someone can tell me how I can edit the timestamps of posts, I'll do it for you.

Though you could also be proud of the glorious name you, and you alone, gave the thread ;)

Well, considering I have nothing to really discuss at this point...
The Mass Effect Activity and Coloring Book.

As no info on ME3 has been released beyond the trailer, which cleverly shows absolutely nothing beyond the fact that Earth is being destroyed; and that, surprise, we have to recruit the other races to help us.

How many humans does it take to screw a lightbulb?
Spoiler
-The Mass Effect Activity and Coloring Book

Though I do wonder how they'll handle the timeskip. ME2's made sense as Shepard wasn't actually there to experience. I suppose this one will be bridged by DLC for ME2, those who actually want coherent story progression can buy that, the ones who just want an epic conclusion with little build-up can buy ME3.

And I've said it before, the Mass Effect series' strength, like most BioWare games, are its characters. So if they decide to swap current squadmates for the sake of new players, or laziness because they can die during the suicide mission. I will have considerably less incentive to actually buy it. Or at least pre-order it...
And did you know a single BioWare writer, Patrick Weekes, wrote Tali, Mordin, Garrus' recruitment mission, and fixed Liara in LotSB? Yeah, that guy's a valuable asset right there.

Additionally, Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 will use the updated Unreal Engine 3 from Mass Effect 3.
Article, video, and screenshots.

I had no idea the Xbox 360's graphics were so poor; but the PS3's are pretty close to the PC, if I might say.
