What happened to innocent until proven guilty?  I hope when someone gets notified of unauthorised data access it comes with an abject apology from Congress for requiring the data to be stored in the first place! :P

Whoooooooo! More bills!

PCFIP, OMFG 5! Not 4! 5! "Protecting Children From Internet Pornographers Act of 2011"
Aka. "Turning Internet Into Big Brother"

This bill has currently cleared its committee, this meaning that the next step is a full vote.

I'm not saying someone should assassinate Lamar Smith. Because that would be illegal. I'm just informing you that it's illegal to say that.
siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh... I've been actively speaking out against these things, thanks for the heads up.

I  believe that was thrown away (more) when the Patriot Act was enacted,  and verified to be useless when they passed the NDAA among other bills.  :)

Well what do you expect when the former leader of Labour, shouted 'Cloud-computing? Cloud-computing!? I think the Taoiseach is up in the clouds!' in Parliament when the last Government was putting efforts into building up the Cloud-computing industry here.

And that party is now in Government.

Yeah :(

I hate modern democracy.

[EDIT: I don't particularly remember that, but from reading that it really makes it sound like "Cloud computing? Like that'll ever happen!". As though it's some sort of magical theoretical fringe technology that people are crazy even to suggest. Like lasers :lalala:.]

Surely, the world can do better? Like... I don't ****ing know, some sort of more selective system like in Ancient Rome? They did pretty well. Where the artist did not have to fear the censor... and we live underwater or something. You know what I mean o_q

A world for gentleman... blah blah RAPTURE etc.

I think honestly the main problem is that any system of rule whatsoever naturally has its potential come completely down to the abilities/skills/etc. of whoever's running it. So at the end of the day... Democracy... Absolute Monarchy... they may have different flavours and different potential for this and that but if was the same people in power they're probably going to look very similar.

I dunno. Just rambling about statecraft here.

I think the theory is that using acronyms helps to sex up their work.  E.g. the (USA) Patriot Act is actually the Uniting (and) Strengthening America (by) Providing Appropriate Tools Required (to) Intercept (and) Obstruct Terrorism act.  I suppose it could also be attributed to soundbite politics, you have to admit some of these bill names hardly roll off the tongue!

Somehow it reminds me of the Berlin Wall, or to give it is proper name, the "Anti-Fascist Protection Rampart"

Then again, when the west actually DID have spies in East Germany and they WERE plotting its downfall... who could blame them for wanting a protection rampart? I know I would :chewy:

Something always seems to come along in these Innernets control disputes... with a predictable regularity...

It's a strange thing IMO. I dunno.

Well chaps... I think it's past time for us all to buy ourselves some expensive sunglasses and trenchcoats, don't you think chaps?
Damn... out of stock:
http://us.deusex-sto...-001_Trenchcoat

I NEVER ASKED FOR ESSENTIAL ANTI-CONSPIRACY GEAR TO BE OUT OF STOCK.

God I really need to actually play DX:HR... I just want to wait until you can get all the DLC and bonus crap in some ultimate edition for really cheap. Also I need to finish Invisible Fanbase.

Well now we do have some actual evidence before the events happening:

STRATFOR Email-ID: 185945 - 2011-11-14 15:40:05

Quote

" ... I think this is a diversion. The Israelis already destroyed
all the Iranian nuclear infrastructure on the ground weeks
ago. The current "let's bomb Iran" campaign was ordered by the
EU leaders to divert the public attention from their at home
financial problems. It plays also well for the US since
Pakistan, Russia and N. Korea are mentioned in the report.
... "

Inside bilderberg source said in mid-2010:

Quote

Some of them in Europe are saying no we shouldn’t do it but most of them are in favor of American air strikes on Iran, They’re tilting heavily towards green lighting a U.S. attack on Iran.” - Jim Tucker

I just noticed the whole EON game has a conspiracy based story - so ... don't look at me :P
