Well, blackout has begun. I think this might be a mortal blow to SOPA. When Google gets in the fight it gives no quarter.

Wikipedia has gone dark (even in the UK), along with many Youtube channels, including TB's channels and YOGSCast. Google.com is also redirecting to the UK site (which it doesn't normally).

Since recently we have a new opening as Active Member, do you want to fill up that position? It doesn't pay and it requires you to post at least once a day, but if you feel up to it it's yours!
But you might notice that we think more in depth to politics, religion and other such nonesence. That's why we are on the 4th page
I think this is quite an awesome experience, even though most blocks are easily worked around (IE when you have slow internet connection you can just pauze the loading of the page in time before the scripted 'blackout'. That's how I am surfing Wikipedia without turning off javascript.)

Do you happen to play Cybernations?

I should probably come here more often, considering I made this account 2 years ago and have yet to post anything before now. Although I'm rather tied to EoN right now, since I became Admin of EoNTube.
Also, some more publicity. Even if it is AlJazeera.

Yep. It's quite an underwhelming "blackout" really.
So it works even better when disabling Javascript? I hadn't though of that...
Christ, this is a real piss poor blackout.
I suppose though, that most people who haven't heard of SOPA or didn't care, probably wouldn't figure out how to bypass it anyway

Nice to see a bit of movement in YouTube channels blocking out their channels, most of which probably due to Yogscast and TB. How could I pass on a good blackout?

After hearing from people with legit concerns, have withdraw support for #PIPA. Let's take time to do it right

All these messages and articles about thousands of UK and US students complaining without educating themselves on why there is a blackout is kind of hilarious. I get it, sure, who's going to make your homework now? Go blackout!
*checks if he has any important assignments*

Yeah.. Just sad, really. There's one paragraph, ONE, that explains what is going on. Stupidity is once more victorious!
Hilarious to watch that twitter account for a little while though. Right before the "Humanity should really just end" feeling creeps in.
IGN also finally has something to say.
Right now watching Athene organize a major TwitterBombardment on Senators. 'bout 11000 viewers, seems to be working reasonably well.

I certainly hope none of those are doing COMPUTER SCIENCE assignments anyway. Oh the embarrassment

I bet Adam Weishaupt is involved in this SOPA business too. I just know it.
What a shame.

EDIT:
I see they are sticking with the "Abuse of Power" plan.
MPAA announced today that a web blackout is an 'abuse of power'. To me it seems more like Hollywood is no long boxing vs 9 year olds.
