Is this that stuff that's flaring up on YouTube like a bad case of herpies? All those videos about "the Earth crying in agony/strange noises heard all over the world" ?

Hoax. Half of them you can just tell it's being played through a boombox directly behind the dumbfounded cameraman, due to the echoing effect when something loud is played inside a room. And half of them sound like they were ripped from the fighting machines in War of the Worlds.

People are getting over-excited about the possibility of the earth making these odd noises because it's mysterious and fantastic, and reality is just too real for their liking.

Although it is amusing to read the comments.

(Kidding, but if you know what it is, can you tell me?  I'm quite curious, it's really really pretty.)

I think this is the same as crop circles. It's fake, and just a couple of people trying to let the masses believe ^@!$ is going down, when all they do is use the same sound over and over again. Some people are better equiped and morph the sounds a little to let others believe it's not the exact same sound.

Which you see in the first clip, he closes the window, sound becomes muffled.

given, in some of the clips it's a totally different sound, but none the less, man-made IMHO.

Best reason for fakeness: If in densely populated zones you hear that crap, you'd go outside. Your neighbours would go outside. The whole $@$!*(( town would go outside and record it, talk about it on the internet, and call the news about it.

None of that has ever happened in recordings that clearly are about towns.

It's just fake.

That's what I thought. If it was real people would go outside and investigate it. Something like this would also be all over the news all over the world.

Off-Topic: This is my 1000th post! It took five years, but now I am finally here. This is the first forum where I have accomplished this.

Even if the earth was groaning or crying or whatever, I doubt it would make very cliche sci-fi noises.

Venus most likely.

At what time does it rise and when does it set? Is it morei in the evening or in the morning that you see it?

It rises about early evening, at about the same time as the other light I thought was Venus, which is still there, and doesn't disappear until late at night; usually I can see these around or after midnight as well.  Perhaps it's Mars?

And no Chess, that website probably is a cover to hide the fact that that 'jupiter' you are seeing is  IN FACT A ROGUE PLANET COMING OUR WAY AND GOING TO DESTROY THE EARTH!
