Hello I'm new as you can see. Just wondering if Petro has any connection with the late great Westwood. I'm curious because as a child i use to drive by Westwood studios in Vegas "grew up on C&C and Dune (:" and after i found out this company is from here I started to think if there was any connection.

There was/is a connection. It's small nowadays but it used to be a whole lot of ex-westwood people. Dunno what the current state is with the employees.

They sadly cant make Dune or C&C games, since they do not own the licenses :(

Yeah I knew EA (the evil one) owned the rights to C&C and dune. Well I'm glade to see that my hunch was right and also glad they stayed in Vegas. Funny thing  is i use to play star wars empire at war "lost my copy some time ago" all the time and never even thought twice about.

Actually, interesting thing about the Dune game rights is that they're really owned by the Dino De Laurentiis Corporation, as they're a spin-off of the 1980s Dune movie theme.

The Dune game rights could easily be lost by not developing a game for so long.

Even so, if someone really wanted to, they could get rights to making a Dune game straight from the current owners of the novel rights rather than the Dino De Laurentiis Corporation, just would mean they'd have to cease using the Dune movie themes and make up their own.

Really i did not know that. I know for myself that it has been to long without a good dune game.

We're here as Westwood in spirit :). Lot of the original developers from Westwood are still working at Petroglyph!
