Maybe certain shows will be a little better if they choose to make it 18+.  Of course, in those cases money is likely to be an issue.

It's hard to imagine the kind of stuff they'd restrict, considering the different morals and standards of decency they have over there.

They're restricting K-On! because it features school girl uniforms. The only anime I've seen in the past 3 years where a possible pantyshot was blackened out even in the DVD release.

fixed.

Truthfully, uniforms don't have skirts that abnormally short. Not even in actual Japan

Anybody here watch Yu Yu Hakusho back in the day? Back when Dragonball, Macross, and Votoms reigned supreme? I bet someone within Petro saw it. It was as popular as Dragonball, or close to it, up until 2007-ish. The plot keeps getting thicker, the atmosphere darkens, right amount of comedy, and the fights are just the right length to not bore you. The music also speaks for the show as well.

Trailer:

Music:

And I also recommend watching Votoms for those not knowing what Anime to watch. I'll leave these as a Christmas and New Year gift for you guys, if you care. Well, Hope you guys have a great 2010 -> 2011 transition ^_^. Guess I'll make this my last Anime post before 2011 comes around and shift over to more Petro-like convos as I should of been doing in the past.

Peace!

Four words:

Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica.

Four episodes in and I can say it's easily the best thing this season without going beyond the descriptions of everything else.  Because most of everything else either sounds awful.  And the rest of everything else had an interesting premise, but failed to deliver.

I'm not really one for Magical Girl shows, but...

Well, not to spoil anything, but one of the main writers is Gen Urubochi, who's basically known for writing disturbing stories.  This one isn't disturbing yet, but it's very dark and surreal, with a nice artstyle.  It isn't your typical magical girl anime, that's for sure.

Ah.  I personally wouldn't pass it up just because of that; the artstyle makes the subversion more effective.

Still, you have a point about the wideface.

Been watching To Aru Majutsu no Index.  It has its flaws, doesn't get an overarching plot until the second season, and some of the arcs are weaker than others, but it's entertaining enough to keep my interest.

Also, can someone who's watched and enjoyed Bakemonogatari tell me what's good and bad about it? I've heard things about it that makes it sound like the kind of thing I'd really enjoy, but everything I see of it just doesn't click with me at all, including the first episode. I don't like judging shows based solely on their first episode, but I often find myself doing so unless I hear there's a twist somewhere early on, and the first episode was so ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

Madoka certainly went from adorable with interesting story to 'the only good mahou shoujo is a dead mahou shoujo'. Fans raging about it apparently. Maybe it's interesting after all.

But Bakemonogatari is also still on my list of things to watch so.. ;)

Marathoning madoka magica. Have 6 eps to clear. I didn't start on it earlier because school crap and because of a bad aftertaste from Kampfer which yet to wear off.

The whole "fun and happy magical girls SUDDENLY DARK AND INTENSE STORY" I saw before when I watched Mai Hime so... yeah. I guess Shaft does it a bit more seriously (how can you NOT be serious when the witches have their own runic alphabet and trading cards on the anime website?)...

The ED is pretty nice tho. Guess Shaft knows how to choose its ending tracks. Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari (bakemonogatari ed) was a fave too from Shaft.

Also damn there are so many shoutouts to Goethe's Faust... and I could use some Mornin Lescue

GG subs are geniuses for leaving it in their vid. This is marketing at its best.

I've still yet to watch the conclusion of Tsubasa Cat. It just slipped off my radar.

Hmm, guess I'll share two Anime seeing as how peeps are still interested in Anime here.

Yumekui Merry was a nice show dealing with dreams. I actually liked this along with the neat OST.

--

[C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control appears to be a new Death Note kind of anime. I mean, the money killing portion of it all, and the vibe. Got nice animations and story seems to be neat so far. I just hope it doesn't get overhyped like Death Note did.

C is for those thinking only about money in life. Enjoy being with your lovely pennies and being sucked into a world of debt :P.

It's basically WW1 steam-punk in the sky.

(This is the first; waiting for the second trailer.)

Hope this second season answers questions left unanswered in first season.

Been watching Level E on and off. It's not interesting enough that I can marathon it, but taken one episode at a time, it's something fun to watch while I relax. I can't really describe it... well, I guess it's a slow-paced, 13-episode anime about aliens and trolling.

Saw an episode of Freezing at my anime club, and wow, it really is as crappy as I've heard.

@ Mizu: Yumekui Merry, huh?  I heard a little about that one last season, and it sounded interesting.  I might as well check it out.

That would be interesting for me. A sequel to an anime i watched half a decade ago.
