That's a childish thing to say ("I prefer real people over cartoons").  I mean, does it really matter if it is drawn or if it is real people? With drawings, you don't get a ruined expereince by horrid actors, you can also experience some really cool moves that isnt possible(Or too expensive to do often) in real life movies/Series.

As long as the story and characters are well developed, that's all that should matter.

Though of course, it is your opinion about what you like and not, I just think it's a rather silly thing to say if all that makes you not like it, is that it is drawn

and this is coming from the hypocrite who said he liked gundam?

if you can get over youself for like one second, and stop being a total dropkick, maybe you'd get that anime doesn't instantly mean bad storyline, bad characters, bad character development and etc.

Cowboy Bebop was amazing, even that stubborn xyvick dude admitted.

and Death Note itself is better than a majority of the s@!$ they show on television.

the characters are actuallly well developed and people care what happens to them, and the MAIN character is the bad guy, which is a welcome change from this whole *main guy is always generically good* crap that most tv shows have.

stop being a blind anime hater and get your head out of your ass plz.

kthxbye.

It would take to long for me to remember and list all the anime I watch, so I will list the one's I've watched over the past two days (most of them I've watched "today" though). Everything I watch (at least everything listed below) is Subbed.

Claymore - Normally this style of anime isn't my thing. It's fairly bloody and violent and I tend to avoid shows like that but the story is really engaging and the animation is great. It also features claymores, and what's cooler than old style European swords (other than Japanese swords)? It takes place in a world were "Yoma" (Demons) eat humans and a group of woman, called Claymores or "Silver Eyed Witches" (as a derogatory description), fight them by accepting the flesh of a Yoma (usually a freshly killed one) into their bodies, making them half-Human and half-Yoma. The story follows Clare and a boy by the name of Raki.

Kekkaishi - Kekkaishi is about two students who protect a school a night. The school is actually built on land that makes Ayakashi (Spirits/Demons/Monsters) more stronger. In order to protect this land from them, two families have been living near the land. These two families are descendants of two students who studied under the famous mage, Tokimori Hazama, who used the land to seal something. They use a technique that allows them to form barriers to contain and destroy Ayakashi. It's sponsored by McDonalds, which I find amusing (the latest episode even had a main character eating there in the morning before school). Besides that, it's a fairly interesting show.. if not a bit stereotypical.

Eyeshield 21 - A typical "sports" anime, but about Football. It's rather difficult to describe other than that it's an anime about Football. It focuses on Sena Kobayakawa, who becomes the ace Running Back for his school's (struggling, and almost non-existent) Football team, the Deimon Devil Bats. Later episode's "bumps" (also called 'eye-catches'; and used to outro to commercials and intro back into the show) started featuring a Pro Japanese League player explaining various football related terms and skills.

School Days - I've only watched the first episode (as that's all that's out that I am aware of), but it seems to be a drama that spans several characters. It seems like it's a romance drama. The animation is really well done and the story looks interesting, especially if they link multiple characters together in interesting ways (which they've already started to do with episode one I think).

Kamichama Karin - A parody of the "Magical Girl" genre. It's a comedy-drama about a girl who finds out that she can transform into a goddess by use of a ring left to her by her deceased parents. Saying anything more would give away plot, although it also could be classified in the "romance" genre. It's interesting.

Moonlight Mile - Moonlight Mile is so intense that if it aired on US Airwaves, it would probably get an TV-MA (or even a TV-A). If it was a movie it would probably get a very hard R rating. The story is about two mountain climbers who decide to go into space after conquering many of the major mountains (including Everest) on Earth. The story follows there paths to get there. There is alot of political intrigue, and science involved in the show. It is actually a very well put together show and is a very engaging Sci-Fi drama set in the near future, where NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), the ESA (European Space Agency), the JSA (Japanese Space Agency), and various other Space Agencies around the world combine to form the ISA (International Space Administration). The animation is spectacular, and the story is engaging and full of political intrigue, mystery, and drama.

Denno Coil - This show is set in the near future, where special glasses allow people to see a digital overlay on top of the real world. People can access their cell phones, web pages, and various other systems simply by using hand motions. There are even Cyber Pets, that behave and act like real pets. However, there are evil creatures/viruses called Illegals that lurk in in deserted areas of the Cyberspace (what they call the world seen through their glasses).

Bleach - Bleach is an anime that follows a normal semi-delinquent High School student turned Shinigami (Death God or Death Spirit literally translated, or a Soul Reaper as translated in the US Anime) named Ichigo Kurosaki. Shinigami pass on Spirits to the Spirit Realm and protect them (and normal humans) from beings called Hollows. Hollows are spirits that have lost their "heart" and turned into monsters. These monsters attack and feed on other souls.

Nagasarete Airantou - This show is a typical Harem-Comedy. It features an island of castaways that have lost all their men in a horrible accident at sea. As fate would have it Ikuto Tohoin, who fell overboard on a ship he was using to running away from home with, happened to wash up on this island of man-deprived woman. It's animation style is interesting, and the story is rather good. The story progresses slowly however.

Negima!? - Negima is a "spiritual second season" to Mahou Sensei Negima! (Magical Teach Negima). The first "season" suffered from putting to much fan-service in and then diverging from the Manga's storyline. It was eventually ended with a non-canon ending. Negima!? takes place two years after Negima! and focuses more on battles than fan service. It's very off the wall comedy, as well as drama. It's a bit strange at times, and there is a lot going on in most scenes. It's a very interesting show, with a strange but oddly engaging story.

Sayonara Zetsubuo Sensei - I just watched the first episode of this today, and I think it is probably the absolute best thing I have ever seen. The animation is great, and I just really like the story so far (and it was just an introductory episode!). It's a comedy that focuses on a teacher who can only see the negative things in life (who's last name ironically means Hope, but when his name is scrunched together and written sideways can be read as Zetsubuo, despair) and a student who can see nothing but positive things to the point of complete misunderstanding things. It's a very amusing show and I like it simply for the fact that it is so far out there from traditional anime style. The main character is depressed to the point of constant attempted suicides and it's a rather dark humor that pokes fun at life. It also is very off the wall in most respects. If I had known about the manga earlier I would probably be an even larger fan of this show (and it just came out). It's probably one of the darkest comedy animes I've ever seen.

Hidamari Sketch - It's a show about 4 students who go to an art school. The dates jump around and there is no real plot to it. It's just a "social story" in that it just involves the social interactions of these four friends and sometimes their teacher (who is BEYOND strange and very perverted, in a good way). It's in the comedy genre. It's basically just a character story and is probably the most "feminine" show I'm currently watching (well that is, since Nodame Cantabile ended).

Edit: For the record, Cowboy Bebop is not that great. I've seen it but don't like it at all. What makes it worse is that in the US version, the guy who does Spike's voice is in just about EVERY anime that gets dubbed. It's very annoying, especially since he's a horrible voice actor (in that he NEVER changes his voice at all, but his delivery is great which is why he gets hired). It ruins any dubbed anime I watch when I hear his voice (not that I watch a lot of dubbed anime).

yea, there is little change in his voice, but I do believe that he is a great voice actor because, like you said, he delivers the lines really well, alot better than most other voice actors.

and I thought he pulled off the Defiler in Forces of Corruption quite well

I wasn't aware that he did the voice of the Defiler in FoC. It's just that his voice annoys me. He's a great actor, but he's not a very good voice actor (though he is among my Top 10 Best US Voice Actors). It's just that when compared to most Japanese seiyu, he just doesn't cut it. I mean even compared to some of the old school voice actors (such as those who've portrayed Kermit the Frog, Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Bugs Bunny), he's lacking. Coincidentally The Simpsons has some of THE best voice actors in American Television.

I guess I just don't like it because it's just not my style and his voice and the voice of some of the US cast just ruin it for me. I tend to not like US dubbed anime as much as the Japanese version. The exception is perhaps the Dragonball series. Goku's voice will make your ears bleed if you listen to the Japanese audio track.

I've seen far to much anime to list it all. Suffice to say I have seen the classics, and I respect them but I don't really like some of them. Alot of people LOVE Trigun, I think it's just okay. Same with Cowboy Bebop. People are fanatical about Inu Yasha, but I don't pay much attention to it. And yet I like shows like Outlaw Star, and Eureka Seven. My tastes are just different, I suppose.

in comparison with seiyu's? I totally agree with you.

probably why 90% of my anime is japanese with english subs.

I mean, I totally see where you are coming from, he's a good voice actor for english dubs, but when you compare it to the japanese ones, it's not as good, and that's typically how it goes.

I would take it that you've seen the english dub of Ghost In The Shell SAC/SAC 2nd GIG? I thought their voice actors were very good and high quality, Kirk Thornton did very well as Kuze if you ask me.

oh and Eureka Seven is great, I love it.

I think you should check out Death Note at some point or another, it's brilliant.

Gawd i hate anime...the lip synch thing is atrocious. Their mouths move like...the tiniest bit and yet, perfectly flawless sentences are launched from them. Not only that, but their facial expressions remain the same, even after several different emotional events. Like this one time (at band camp lol) this...wierd looking...wierdo was stuck grinning after, yelling, talking softly, talking normally and even crying. WTF!? I'm struggling to try and see that happening in real life...

I just hate all anime. Ridiculous! Pokemon'd have to be the worst though, i still cant believe its still around after so bloody long. Sheesh..

Do take note that this is my opinion, so if you like anime, i dont have a problem with it.

but you see every Anime starts off in japanese, so all the drawings for the lips and whatnot are done for japanese language, and they speak alot differently than us english speaking people, that's why it's really off.

so it's better to watch it in jap with english subtitles, english dubs are usually horrid.

Finished Death Note last night and I must say it was very well done from beginning to the end. I dislike the ending a bit since it was kind of sloppy but its been aired so it can't be changed. So thats what happens.

Why dislike anime? Theres so many different anime styles and storylines that stereotypes just turn out tbe stupid jokes that turn the creators of those jokes into idiots. Voices not matching the lips? Its from Japan as Stargazer said since saying words in their language and our language get different "shapes" of the mouth. Where am I gonna get my story now, ah I know Air Gear....

Who here want a twisted (as in sadistic twisted) and confusing story line. I suggest seeing

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni

Its not for the weak but its pretty interesting. Episode 5 and its rather good. Droid here is currently in a very twisted state of mind like I was after watchin Elfen Lied 3 times over.
