World Painted Blood to me felt a little half-hearted, they didn't seem quite as into their subject matter as they were on earlier albums. Had some cool tracks on it, though, and the title track is a beast live. My favourite is still the (imo horribly underrated) God Hates us All - all the anger of their early age, but less thrashy.

Album Saxophone Colossus by Sonny Rollins.
Album My Generation by The Who.
Album The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking by Roger Waters.
Album Doolittle by The Pixies.
Album Clayman by In Flames.

And Radiohead's albums In Rainbows and OK Computer spliced together, which allegedly function as a continuous super-album when combined in the right way. It works really well in some places ("Subterranean Homesick Alien" into "Nude" for example, or "Airbag" into "15 Step") but kinda weirdly in others. Still, nice listening, and I think "Reckoner" is currently my favourite song.

This song is short but makes up for it in terms of quality:

I have been listening quite a lot to Discharge lately. Their older stuff that is. I've heard that their mid-80's and later stuff was pretty much crap compared to their earlier works. I haven't tried their latter stuff much yet so I can't say for sure, but from what I have tried, I'm inclined to agree. It sucks.

The Inner Circle, Monday Morning Apocalypse and Torn albums by Evergrey.
Kind of surprised I hadn't heard of this band before, really liking them.

Looking forwards to it too - I've loved what they've leaked so far. Lamb of God are still supernaturally hardworking, and given how many bands have been lazy this past year, I put a fair bit of trust in them to ring 2012 in well.

Album How I Got Over by The Roots.
Album In on the Kill Taker by Fugazi.
Album First Two 7s on a 12 by Minor Threat.
Album Mother's Milk by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Album The Mantle by Agalloch.
Album Rites of Spring by Rites of Spring.
Album Pinkerton by Weezer.

Still find myself listening to more Evergrey. Kind of shocked, one of the very few bands that I like all their albums of. Admittedly some I think are significantly less in quality, but even those I find rather good. Takes a special kind of band for me to like all their work. :P

Got to say, listening to their lyrics I also often find myself asking "How did they come up with this? What is the meaning?" more often than with other bands (I often think this with songs)

I should.

Currently listening to Harmless Wishes.

Apparently...
Spoiler

They also have one album dedicated to alien abduction. That's ehh.. something I haven't heard before. Songs suit rather well to that.

The Masterplan, Rulers of the Mind, State of Paralysis, Different Worlds, The Encounter.

Still takes the prize though.

Album: Anthrax - Worship Music

My favorite album of 2011 by far, and I haven't even listened to every track yet.  Each track I listen to in turn becomes my new favorite of the album.  There literally isn't a single song on here that I don't like.  No album has EVER done that for me.

Down's Over the Under that I got today. Haven't heard a great deal of Down before aside from a handful of songs, but it goes alright. Extremely different Phil to the Pantera Phil I know and love!

And Ex Deo's Romulus. Always goes down good!

It's a little amusing, but the novelty wears off quickly. Holy ^@!$ do I hate Kesha. I refuse to spell her "name" with a dollar sign! The Justin Bieber/Slipknot mashup was better!

That aside, got Lamb of God's Resolution the other day. Been listening to it nonstop, unsurprisingly. It's a solid album, completely outdoing Wrath, and although I hear some minor references to previous albums, there's no huge rip-off, like what Arch Enemy did with Khaos Legions, which might aswell have been Doomsday Machine II: The Reckoning. Overall, plenty of new and surprising moments in Resolution, so I'm pretty happy with it. Favourite songs would be "Straight For The Sun", "Desolation", "The Undertow", "Insurrection", "To The End" and "King Me".

Been going back and forth between Gojira and Bloodbath. Gojira primarily because I'll be seeing those magnificent *******s next week, and I'm ready to break my neck windmilling to them, and Bloodbath, because they're catchy and enjoyable for almost any mood.
