It's a marketing issue first and Foremost. Sega Europe failed in their duty to corporately Market this game, which means they have failed to reach out to tens of thousands of potential customers. By delaying they can allow chances to market the game, and gain the sales margin that's been set.

By going ahead now as the game is about to go gold will turn this game into a sleeper hit in Europe, and a lot of money will be lost. But unfortunately to those of us Europeans whom already know about this game, it does no favours at all.
Exactly. I always knew that there are going to be issues when i saw no ads in the game magazines, news/previews here were sporadical, and upon occasion, commented less by a handful of gamers etc.

I dont understand why the likes of Adam get this to know from us, and why Sega EU doesnt even talk this over with them.

vb: Yeah, localisation in Germany is pretty bad, as if the dubbers wouldnt take games seriously.
I dont think there will be a problem with an import version, but its just madness to have it imported! Europe is a huge market and theyre just cutting us of from them and vice versa.

As you can see i dont have any post be I've been lurking here for ages ... just didnt bother to register ... so anyhow I'm form Croatia a country you might or might not know doesnt matter ... i'd just like to say how the internet became so idiotic and regionalized ... so i've been trying to buy SupCom from a internet site so i can DOWNLOAD it or get a cdkey not the whole box ... so first the game costs 70$ or 50 € in my country THATS a ripoff i am not willing to pay fore FIRST the avarage pay is 550€ and dont even earn any money because i am in collage ... so i wont spend my hard earned money on games if they cost so much ...

so thats the first problem the second one is of course that i cant buy the GAME ANYWHERE on the internet since D2D is like USA ONLY and UK ONLY ... so are all the other download and play companys there a few sites that send you the key to your email but for some unbelivable reason the wont except credit cards that are from europe O.O and now the 3th is every single game is delayed like a poo load in europe not to mention croatia so i cant get it when the time comes ...

So yes this is just pure rant ... and yes i am very very disaponted that i cant play the game in November  :glare:

O btw does anyone know a site where game are reasonable prices and send key or are download and play ... since i have to pay like 30€ for shipping tax and s@!$ that my country sets on packages  ? :glare: more like where i can BUY UAW not overpriced for like 60€ in my country !

This is unbelievable. I'm in Canada, so this doesn't affect me, but I still don't like this. It seems to me that there are more disadvantages than advantages to this.

It's unnacceptable that Sega Europe didn't even communicate this to you as well. What is going on there???

I see it as potentially devastating. All Europeans (unless they're going to import) are going to have to clear this forum and the community (including myself) to avoid storyline spoilers.

Potentially after the game's release we can see many threads going up saying "Why does Orlock do this?" or "Why did that happen?"... It would be very tough to stick around without bumping into something that's gonna ruin the experience of a European player.

Exactly. What worries me is that the game sales shall be definitely hurt by pirates (some naughty kids won't have the patience to wait a couple of months in order to purchase a legal copy    ).

Very good question. It's strange. A British Magazine Called PC Zone was the first magazine and the first media outlet to announce this game exclusively. From that day all there has been is silence, nothing, zilcho.

From that beginning I really thought Europe would have a strong headlining mix of previews and articles relating to this game. But to not even have a single thing proves to me that someone in Sega Europe needs to be fired over this. If I had overlooked something like this in my work, I'd be castrated, then hung by the neck for failing to do my work and disobeying company rules.  <_<

Saracen: I think he means that he cant see why Sega Europe let the press now first about the delay and didnt ask Petro about this, but i may be wrong.

But if you are right, ill add to the marketing that there was only one preview per magazine in German speaking countries.

We really need to kick up a fuss about this guys. Us, the fans, need to all get together USA or EU and fight. It's totally unacceptable. I'm serious. More so about the lack of support from SOE in both communication and marketing. Its like they just don't care.. ooo starting to sound like a certain Dev/Publisher..

I've actually just looked at the Sega jobs site. There was a job posted in July for a US Titles Producer, at Sega Europe. This person who would be solely responsible for ensuring the release of Universe at War on time and with correct marketing. As you can see by the link they haven't filled it. Therefore there has been no work done in that area, also meaning marketing has had no accurate direction.

Well it's too late now anyway. I can't belive this. A week is understandable, it's annoying, but I'm used to it. But Two months? This is just insane.

This will also affect sales since most will just download the game now instead of waiting two bloody months <.< None will buy it for the online becouse that's the crappy Live subscription fee taken care of
