Without knowing anything about your computer, there are a few reasons this could happen (note that I am not a customer support tech, so I am going by personal experience):
1) The disk is bad. This is rare, but does happen occasionally.
2) Your drive is bad. Also rare, but drives do break down after use.
3) You are runnning some program that is interfering with the disk read. Some drive emulation software, CD/DVD burning software and some virus checkers can do this.
4) The copy protection on the disk and your drive don't work with each other. Again, this is rare, but does happen with some models. To check this case, try it in another machine if possible.

You could proably go back to the store you bought it at and ask for a new disk but then again as Torpid said it could be your drive too.

I hope this dosnt happend to me after I order over-seas. Sending it back and getting a new one is going to be a pain in the aaaass

One thing you may want to check for is the latest drivers / firmware for your DVD drive. Sometimes this can be the problem.
Even a recently purchased drive may have a firmware update available for it.

I have the same issue... only thing is he didn't post his specs...
Im using MT1316 BDV 212B DVD/CD-rom drive... Looking at it my dvd drive is from like 1997... which makes it like 10 years old...

I thought i would just add that the game installs and runs on my laptop. The only problem is that my laptop is so crappy it will never play at a decent speed.
