Some of you may recall the forum thread a few weeks back where community member freelance began to post high quality renders of the models in the game. Well, he's taken that experience a step forward, and graciously assembled a series of desktop backgrounds featuring the heroes of Universe at War. The full complement is here, in both regular and spectacular widescreen format.

Download the widescreen (1920x1200) desktop backgrounds

Hell yeah, freelance. This is good.

In the name of the Gods ships shall be built to carry our warriors out amongst the stars, and we will spread Origin to all the Unbelievers! The power of the Ori will be felt far and wide, and the wicked shall be vanquished.

Hallowed are the Ori.

At first I made the ground with a dark red/orange color (Hierarchy scheme), but to me it seemed to make the image uncomfortable to the eyes and monotone. I found the blue more appealing and gave some nice contrast. But as always, to each his own.

Nicely done mate ^_^

Not sure if I will use them becouse I like to have a "clean" background (As in, nothing spesific as a character or anything like that)

But I love what you've done no less

Oh, and NICE JOB FREELANCE!

It's not a table, he is using a spotlight for lighting the model. Very nice rendering.
