Petroglyph sure has its competition with Universe at War, I do have to say those live action videos were pretty darn sweeet! :)

I saw it, but I have to say I'm very disappointed... it's "pretty" but doesn't seem like it has a back bone or substance... I'm especially disappointed that they said the ION cannon can destroy entire bases... from everything they say... sounds like the series is starting over...
guess we'll have to wait and see...

Pathetic crap if you want my opinion. Watch it closely and you'll see that the gameplay lags in the background when all the units are moving. A bit telling isn't it?

it looks ok.

although it still looks like a "zomg spam unit to win" type of game.

Some of the FMV scenes I've seen are directed pretty poorly. Lighting is suspect too. I'm sure it will be a nice total package and I am looking forward to seeing how it all comes together. I am still a fan of C&C but this one could go either way. I hope it is good since I like the ol' girl. I still have a few friends working over there too.

I was thinking the same thing! THE same thing. Its a shame Joe isnt directing the FMV sequences... what really makes me sick is the EA community manager responded to someone's post that gave similar arguments to yours and he said, "Westwood's FMVs were better? No comment..." something along those lines. While I am impressed, I have to say the EA FMV's will NEVER match up to westwood's quality.

While I know the people on this forum are pretty much tainted against EALA, and with good reason, I do have to say I am impressed with what they are doing with C&C 3. Fact is informed people like us will never be happy with anything they do just because westwood isnt making it. So I had to force myself out of that and see it for what it is.

ok guys let'S see to some facts !

1. the acting is VERY poor, i think the director is to blame !!!!!
2. Joe Kucan ISN'T the director !!!!!!!
3. the music is pure CRAP !!!!!!
4. the game just doesn't look like a sequel but more a prequel if you forget about the scrin.
i dunno, but i think westwood had not make the scrin so cheap..... they really look cheap......
5. and the worst of all ! Mike Verdu isn't a fan, he made so much changes and doesn't answer
some more complex questions, he isn't the guy for making a C&C game.

the game will sell pretty i guess, some good looking graphics, boom boom, evil aliens and then you have a package which every kiddy wants today, story? no sir..... we all didn'T play C&C3 but they made these changes so the story will be very cheap and easy to explain, after the Firestorm ending of NOD i was really excited and curious what would be next.

I WANT TO GO BACK IN TIME and let westwood make the game :(

C&C DIED WITH WESTWOOD ! the nod ending is a punchline........... i dunno exactly why westwood isn't no more, perhaps someone can pm me and can tell me if EA is the pure EVIL in the story....

What annoys me about this game is that I haven't seen real gameplay yet. I've only seen shiny graphics. I like good graphics, but I like good games even more.

Go to www.cncgeneralsworld.com hissingnewt and you can find some gameplay footage in there. They have a video of a skirmish between GDI and NOD, and also a video of a GDI mission to investigate the Scrin.

Their new objective system looks pretty cool also. :)

THE GAME STILL HAS A MONTH BEFORE IT'S RELEASED!!!! Of course it's going to be laggy, it's still in its beta phase...

well generals oh i forgot C&C before the name, awww never mind ;), still is a crappy laggy thing. support ? no.

i'm not buying EA's crap when it'S released, most stuff i bought used so i didn'T support EA again :rolleyes:

Unfortunately Fosh, while I'm a fan of Westwood, I also liked Generals (multiplayer at least). So while I hate EA, I also know good games of theirs when they -do- come out...but from what I've seen of CNC3, I don't think I'm going to like it at all. I'm going to try it...but I don't expect much anymore. I was really looking forward to it too.

I personally liked generals as well - a lot. China and the US versus some terrorist organization? :huh: Why not? :)

I'll be getting CNC3 in the hope that EA will be more supportive of mods or at least release a decent SAGE Engine "SDK" <_<

I also wanna see first hand what changes EA has made to the game engine from BFME2 and how using XML's for data storage changes the modability.

Personally I've preordered the Kane Edition of CNC3. Even if it is a royal screwup I still want to play through the entire campaign.
