If this odd news topic doesn't spark a convo I give up <_<

Australian Smuggles fish

Granny finds grenade in Groceries

Teacher cuts tongue off student

Jailed for stealing hair

China to tax hotels without condoms

lastly
Front lawn artwork of Bush with knife through head

Gotta add this:
Swiss accidentally invades neighboring Liechtenstein

Lol people these days

1) Smuggling fish? a female smuggling fish in her dress? What the hell.....
2) A faulty American grenade? Thankfully the Americans had a faulty grenade which was still active or she'd be history by now. I can see how the mix up can happen
3) Ack gotta hurt  Common not even my stupid teachers do anything like that except mock you stupidly. Damn well it would of worked back in medieval times but now we're more protective of one another (or hopefully are).
4) Oh common when a girl torches your sausage she only gets 2 years instead of 4 or more and you get 2 years for something like stealing hair? <_< Corrupt society!!!
5) To fight aids? I thought it was to fight over population but what do I know i'm just a silly Canadian as Gen Vader says
6) ROFL , Worst then communism! He rotates art monthly? lol well at least they have to wait a month for him to change it diplomatically, impatient agents :p
7) Well at least the other country/region understood what was happening and down played it. Liechenstein was forgiving since "its not like they came over here with attack helicopters". lol

Court says noisy cellphone no reason for jail

Quote

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - A South African sentenced to a month in jail for allowing his cellphone to ring noisily in a courtroom had the sentence overturned on appeal on Friday.

Keri Gwyn Lewis was convicted after his cellphone rang while he was sitting in the public gallery of the Johannesburg High Court and he answered it while leaving the room.

SAPA news agency said the irritated judge sent bailiffs after Lewis, who "was ordered into the witness stand, questioned about his conduct, convicted of contempt of court on the spot and sentenced to a month in jail."

The Supreme Court of Appeal on Friday voted unanimously to overturn the conviction, saying it violated Lewis's constitutional right to a fair trial with legal representation, SAPA said.

"A rebuke or some other indication of disapproval should in most cases be an adequate measure to discourage cellphone transgressions in court," the judgement read.
