Having nothing else to do on another forum where I've been inactive for several weeks...
...I had a sudden thought of wondering what everyone's education level is up here.

What grade are you in public school? What course are you taking in your college/university.
And if you feel comfortable discussing your grades or GPA.

Well not that's out of the way...I shall discuss my least favorite topic. Me.

I know some of us might get a bit happy with our typing but it poses an interesting enough topic.

Anyway. I've only been out of high school for nine months. Took long enough for that special day to come and now it's been gone for what seemed like an eternity.

Now I'm in the local community college. Woo for poorness! But I followed what I like and am learning to become a Computer Engineer/Technician. Massive fun. Somewhat. It is not a course for the light-hearted.
We've lost half of our class since last August. But we've gained three since then who missed the first semester and are still playing catch up.

Currently I've learned binary, hexadecimal, and I already knew decimal.
Now I know how to convert from one to another and it's unusual to most.
But seems almost normal to me.

Try counting with only 0s and 1s for binary, or from 1 to F with Hex.
Though at this point in time we just finished up on capacitors.
And we are finished with the first part of a chapter for SAP-1
Simple-As-Possible. And believe me...It is simple as possible...But looks complicated.

Fun thing about the SAP-1 chapter...It's broken down into two tests.
That's a first for me. Two test for one chapter.

Beyond that, I'm learning Visual Basic. Somewhat fun to develop programs that are interesting but truly serve no use.

I may look into C++ programming...

Well...that wraps up what I'm currently learning.

Next!

Deustchland!!! That's one of my goals too. Learn German. And maybe Russian.

Next thing I know...our government will be trying to recruit me. Grief...I hope not.

And good job with your grades. I excelled in math.
Believe me...when you get to Physics in college you'll know why you learned all that math.

not really hard to get B's.

I slept through most of our maths assessment, and without any study or preperation I got a 95%.

I have an Associate of Arts degree in theatre it also suffices as a transfer degree. I was planning to go for a Bachelors degree in teaching, but it's not my gig, and a teacher failed me because she didn't like me (seriously it's insane) I fought the failing grade and had all my supposed "missing assignments" and the sent emails saved, since we got to send it via email, burn, so I had more than enough proof to fight... I got my grade changed to passing, but because of this I had to drop out last semester (fin aid cut my funds because of it... <_< ) and had to fight it until december so I couldn't take classes this semester either *sigh*

I passed every class in community college with A's and I never bought a book (and the ones I did I never cracked) I had 2 c's in english but that's because I waited till the last day before I started any assignment and wrote them... procrastination it's my thing.

Now I have no direction and no idea what to do... need a bachelors in this world at least, will be going back as soon as I determine what I want... or find a good theatre to join...

(its difficult to find something when you never have problems at anything)
oh and I failed almost everything in highschool because I didn't do the assignments... I graduated on time because my math teacher knew I knew everything (I helped everyone in class) I just refused to do my own work  <----------
Now I see my mistakes then and it's stupid... all because I'd rather hang out then do a few hours of homework

I truly suck at school. I'm in 10th grade, and while I have an A in English, a C in Spanish (I wanted to take German) and a B in World History, I have friggin' D's in Marine Science and Geometry. While I don't really mind Marine Science, I just can't stand Geometry, or anything mathematical for that matter. It's just beyond me.

I find that as I get older I get smarter but lazier. My freshmen year at highschool I had a 3.8 GPA. Then in my sophmore year I dropped to a 3.6 and now in the latter end of my junior year I have a 3.4

ouch. Luckily I scored a 30 on the ACT.

I blame most of my drop in GPA on my sophmore year Algebra 2 class where I had the WORST teacher I ever had. Her name was Mrs. Hall she was in her early 60's and would often fall alseep in the middle of the lessons she was giving. For that whole year I got straight -C's. bleah

I'm totally unmotivated at school.

you should see some of the stuff that goes on at school, with nothing get done about it.

- I get spat on
- I get threatened
- I get beat up
- I get set on fire

right, and nothing was ever done about stuff like that, with one teacher calling me a liar, and then another saying that the bullies should be treated aswell as their victims.

this school sucks >_<

And, from the sound of it, if you took that to court, suing either the people who did so or suing the school for negligence (or both), you'd have a decent chance of getting enough money to pay for college, and then some.

Get the hell out of that school dude. Nothing pisses me off more when people get picked on and nothing is done about it. Makes me want to kill...

Well me? Finished school. Two years now, finished at year 12. I guess i did ok...a pass anyway. English was my 'best' subject apparently. The teacher loved what i wrote (because i wrote informally in essays and such, which she found unique or something).

And now, i work for a local shopping complex as a nightfiller. I come in at 6 and work till we cant. Really, there is no deadline. We just work until we've finished. And if it goes over 12, its overtime...time! Double the pay - but usually if it gets to that time all you're thinking about is going home for food and sleep. And yes, thats 12 at night.

Holy christ man, you were actually set on fire??
Geezus.

That's one I don't think I have heard of before.

As for me, well, I have been done with School for quite some time and was one of those guys who went into college and after 2.5 yrs left, went into the service then got married and never returned to finish up my schooling. Sometimes I regret not getting my full degree but it really has not affected me too much. I do think it is important to at least get an Associates Degree though as it does put you ahead of those with no college education, so I do recommend as strongly as possible to some of you to at least do that much. You will not regret it later in life, trust me.

actually, I go to one of the best schools in New South Wales, Newington College.

it's sad that certain people can get away with so much, while others can't.

this guy was going to hit my friend, and my friend moved over to the side and left his leg out and the guy tripped over and broke his leg.

did he get anything for starting the fight? no, my friend got threatened with expultion for defending himself.

my other friend left the school cause he was getting picked on, bashed by seniors, and nothing was done about it.

also, this one time I refused to do what this senior said, he wasn't a prefect so he couldn't do anything, and he punched me in the head and got nothing.

I'm now in 6th grade of secundary school. I do Latin - Modern Languages. The main subjects are, of course, Latin, and also English, German and French. Dutch is my native language. Of course we also get maths and sciences but that is the less important part of this study :p
Next year I go to university (hopefully:p) and I hope to study Digital Arts and Entertainment, but I'm not sure yet.

I was a B student in High School, favorite subjects were Scinece, History, and Math.

I am in college at DigiPen Institute of Technology. Learning abou how to make games in the RTIS (Real Time Interactive Simulation) program. First semester I learned about C, linear Algerba/Geometry, and other subjects. I also learn binary, Oct, Hex, logic gates, and the easy ways to convert between them. The big thing I am learning about is development of games.

This semester I am learning about C++, programming for windows, discrete math, and a few other subjects. I am also doing some Assemby, my group and I have to program a car to navigate a hallway and make sure it doesn't hit anything (uses IR sensors). Programming in assemby can be annoying. I almost always have work to do, but I am loving it all.

The thing a like the most is that I am currently making a game; a parser text base game. And although it is a text based game, it is a lot of joy for me and my team to make.

I am a senior in high school, and I am currently taking English, Calculus, Physics, Government, Computer Science, and Band. I will attend the University of Texas (UT) at Austin next year, where I will study electrical engineering in the honors program. I'm thinking about changing my major to computer science when I get there, but if i do that I loose my scholarship money, which comes from the engineering dept. )For whatever reason CS is in the natural sciences). Ive got pretty much all my tuition waived(national merit and merit based scholarships), so my parents wouldn't be happy if I switched away from where the money is.

If I didn't post it before, I'm planning to go to ODU. It's close to where I live.
