$480 is supposed to be about £255... but then you add VAT, and Microsoft's 'same price' policy - so i would say about £350

last I read it doesn't include the HD cables, no blue ray support, and 120gb of free space... not much really plus teh HDdrive doesn't even read games on HD disks...  I havn't read about PS3 jamming at all ever... and I've looked at this console war a lot!
rotflol I'm guessing M$ finally realizes their platform doesn't hold a candle to the PS3's power so now they're going to manipulate people with bigger #'s...
edit that's the first time I've seen it say it supports BR... everywhere else I've read it says it doesn't...

taking into account that most of the current xbox owners don't get these features they'll have to buy a NEW xbox costing them roughly 400+475 = 875 so all those millions who bought a 360 to begin with are going to, in the end, pay even MORE than a PS3... Sony=smart M$=stupid

A majority of Xbox360 users do not need the Elite features and will not be upgrading. All the elite does is add a HDMI port (which displays the same resolutions as the Component port) and a larger hard drive.
Since HDMI adds HDCP, you are probably better using component cables unless you have a pressing need to have a digital connection (such as having a refridgerator sitting between your TV and Xbox).

they don't have to buy it. They could. If had an xbox 360 I wouldn't go and buy a new editon. I think that the majority of 360 owners won't go and buy this revamped version. But that was pretty shrewed of microsoft. But hey, they're winning the console war. sony.... isnt.....

it's really hard to say they're "winning" when their console came out very early just to get a jump on the competition so they can claim they're winning. According to reports at this point in time PS3 is ahead of the game... when 360 was in the same place as the PS3 is now they had significantly less sales. .gif)

DUH! and that's why they're winning. I don't think the PS3 will ever catch up to the 360. especially when halo 3 comes out. I know several people that are waiting to get 360 just for halo 3. The wii however is ganing and we haven't seen thier best games yet.

to use a well thought out metaphore the Japanese had a jump on america with the attack on Pearl Harbor but we all see who came out on top there
Plus I know many many people who are jsut waiting for MGS4 before they get their PS3's... so they're both riding on one franchise to jump their sales...

Yep... amazing how that works. I remember when Sony was trying to ride the wave of demand...
And that resulted in 12 PS3s sitting in my local best buy for a month....
