"So driph, what's coming up in the next Universe at War patch?"
"Huh! Glad you asked! Hmm, what I can share. You know, the stuff that's really in and done, versus the golly we'd love to do that bits. Okay, here we go.
Ah, Masari. Quite a few tweaks here and there, including some noticable Peace Bringer changes (omg tractor beam imba!), Oh, and let's just say you'll be pumping out Figments sooner once patch day hits."
"Keen! What about the others?"
"The biggest Hierarchy change? Brute charges devastate towers. Take down a stock tower in a single charge, they will. But don't expect big Novus changes... just a few subtle modifications."
"What else, what else??"
"Well, there is one thing."
"Tell us, tell us!"
"You know the camera?"
"Yes?"
"You know how everyone keeps going on about the zoom? More zoom, more zoom, that's what they keep saying."
"YES?"
"So yeah, more zoom. We're pulling the camera back an additional 22%."
"YES!"
"Here, I've got pictures."
"Oh driph, you're such a patch tease!"

AWESOME! *Clings to Driph and never lets go*
Thank you Petroglyph for being here in the dark ages of RTS gaming! May your bright torch lead the way for other developers led astray. You make me happy as long as you stay alive, and I will dedicate my life to thee to make this dream come true!

cant wait to get the patch...umm wait, cant wait to get my game first
Any chances that we will ever get building ques? maybe make it novus only, or better make it into a research...maybe flow1 = que enabled...so they can expand theyr flow network without to much micro...would love this one! Just take 2-3 collectors....make towers all around the map and never worry again

What about the rumored changes to arc turrets (walker hardpoint) ?
P.S. is that a new map shown in those photographs?

That's a test map, but we're going to turn it into an MP map down the road.
Brute charge insta-killing base towers is nasty!

hmm.. I was fine with zoom before, so I'm glad its just a minor camera height change.
few changes to novus really worries me as they are currently far to vulnerable to a certain hierarchy rush....
masari change sounds good, though admittedly I don't really play them so I can't really comment on much about them...
already heard about the brutes earlier, I think that change will be great, it should increase their usefulness late game.
hey wait a second..... in those two pictures of the new zoom.... are those new maps? I don't recognize the layouts on the minimaps... are these coming with the patch or will we never see them again?
EDIT: ah okay, test maps eventually becoming new maps, got it.... on that note, I don't suppose you have any planned map releases including a new 3 player map designed for ffa do u?

We balanced the Brute charge so that if Novus is using the Backup Patch or Masari is in Dark mode, turrets won't pop. But if the Hierarchy player catches you off guard, it would be nasty. For Novus Blade Trooper damage vs infantry has been increased by 60%, that should help in fending off Brutes.

tone down walkers. Come on now. They are a terror vs. bases, with no really solid counter to them for novus, baring mass dervish death blossom, black whole and amplifiers. But those are all late game options. Walkers are not confined to the late game. Also, it makes logical sense, but walkers crushing vechiles is not good for balance imo.

The changes sound good Driph. Also will you guys be addressing the issue where the game deselects your buildings when you are queing up units.

that sounds great, but I was more concerned about whether or not the early game defiler rush would still be overpowered against novus...

I liked the old camera but meh, we'll see... my worry is novus units since they are small might go MIA...

Why make hierarchy better? They are the imbalanced army ATM. Either increase the build time on walkers (after the glyph is carved) or lower their hit points. Defilers are SOOOOOO OP they need to take more damage from tanks which SHOULD be their counter. There is really no possible way for maseri to beat a hierarchy player using 2 assembly walkers spamming saucers and defilers and turrets. Defilers + ufo dominate conqueors + desiples not to mention 2 walkers coming into your base with beams as well. I'm finding novus verses maseri to be decently fair.
Your never going to get an online community unless you get GFWL to make chat lobbies passworded games, normal rts online stuff ect...Hope you guys are pressing hard at that.
I like the camera zoom - needed.
The only thing the tractor beam was really OP on was heros.
