"Divine Intervention," the standout track from the Universe at War soundtrack, has been nominated in the Best Original Vocal - Choral category! From the announcement:
The Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G.), the non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement and recognition of game audio, has announced the finalists for the 6th Annual G.A.N.G. Awards to honor outstanding creative, technical and artistic audio achievement in the world of interactive entertainment.
The G.A.N.G awards have been welcomed by the pro game audio community, as the nominees and winners are chosen and voted on by their peers, including some of the top composers and sound designers in the industry.
"It took the 50 person G.A.N.G. Advisory Board over a month to decide the final nominees,” said Tommy Tallarico, Founder/CEO/Chairman, Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G.). “With over 350 entries received this year, just being a final nominee is something to be very proud of. When you see and hear the amazing quality of the titles nominated I think you get a very good sense of where the game audio industry is headed."
Go Frank! Read the article at music4games.net for the full list of nominees.

That's awesome. Frank definatly deserves the recognition(sp?) He's really outdone himself with this game.
Thank you Petroglyph for being here in the dark ages of RTS gaming! May your bright torch lead the way for other developers led astray. You make me happy as long as you stay alive, and I will dedicate my life to thee to make this dream come true!

It shouldnt, since the winners are decided by other artists not gamers:

Well then we might have a hope But still, even artists got their favorite games
Well I hope Frank and UaW will beat them all though, Divine Intervention sure got the potential to do so. It's an awesome track

See how BioShock made it into so many categories? The sound/music was pretty good, but not that good.
Also notice how the peers who make these decisions, are still a part of the industry. So I bet they'll pander to the fans and pick the bigger names and studios just like all the review sites do, which is complete crap

Yea... hyped games always have a certain advantage over other games.
IF SC2 would really suck, it would still get average to good reviews just because it is SC2. That's indeed not fair but unfortunately it's like that :s

Yeah this is what I am worried about >.<; Hype usually always go over quality of the games, though Bioshock is good, I never got drawn into the music at all, when I think about it, I dont think I ever heard any <.<; Except when I pressed some jukeboxes.
Though it's awesome that UaW is the ONLY RTS game in there, and is on the same Level of Halo and Bioshock

Bioshock is good, but that's because it is a new franchise. If the first title sucks, the franchise is as good as dead.
Do you ever wonder why they keep making sucky games from movies (and recently, vice versa)? Because people who like the movie are very likely to buy the game as well, so the quality of the game doesn't really matter that much. People who are buying those games aren't hardcore gamers, and probably aren't reading reviews either.
Edit: before I get my ass kicked by half of Petro, I definately do not concider EaW as a poor license game

Congratulations.
But I'm with Luga on this, I don't think I heard music in Bioshock except for that Jukebox I found in Fort Frolic.

Seems games with no music, gets nominated for award if they are popular enough and hyped enough

Oh, I forgot about the orchestral version of Beyond the Sea in the beginning of Bioshock.
