Any first gen games look terrible, look at the 360's line up, pretty much a joke graphic wise for what they said it will do. Just like any systems, once Devs have their hands on it it will improve, unfortunately for Sony their systems aren't the easiest to program for.
It seems Microsoft's strategy was to get the console out a year earlier, put a ton of money into a studio to produce a game that looks as good as what Sony will release. You could argue that it seems to be working, since Microsoft has worked most of the kinks out of the 360, released a fairly inexpensive HD DVD add on (which works with Windows to, which might be the boost HD-DVD needs over bluray), and Epic has released a game that looks as amazing. Doesn't help that the GeForce 8800s beat the PS3 to release.
My question for the PS3 faithful, is "What is the 'Wow!' factor of the PS3?"
In slight disagreement, I thought Call of Duty 2 looked pretty good (and sounded extremely good. In my opinion sound is every bit as important as graphics). Resistance: Fall of Man also looks good, judging from reviews and screenshots.
