Well i was wondering how many people have it and whos getting it

also i have s few stroys about it and all from wat happened in my city

so if you havre the same say it here

this guys in my town got shot over a PS3
HissingNewt
Nobody got shot over the 360 or Wii so that shows that those fans have gamers less willing to shoot for a console.

I hope the console works well for you, but I'm not getting one.

People got shot because they had $600 in their pockets.

I never thought I'd agree with you.

Agreed. People shoot people for the monetary value of the PS3, and not the PS3 itself. I doubt there's a fanboy ANYWHERE who'd shoot someone so they can go home and giggle to themselves about how they got to play Resistance.

I agree. It's disgusting how people will just go around and shoot people for PS3's. They didn't wait 18 hours in line. They didn't pay $600.

I hate thieves. Always have, always will. Being robbed myself, you kind of have a loathing and a personal quest for revenge. Thieves robbed like $5k worth of stuff out of the family storage, right after my dad died.

And the PS3 isn't good anyway... It's a flop. I wouldn't pay $600 for a game console... Even if it was worth it.

Im sorry but how is it a flop? It sold out.... ITs a marvel of a machine.... Its before its time.... Im no Sony fanboy, but i dont understand why people put this stuff down.

If you want to say its a flop because its hard to develop for then i ask you what happened to the ps2?

Its to bad that Sony has its head up its own butt, but its still pretty sweet for what it is. The price point isn't that bad for what your getting... Think of it like this... The 360's HD DVD drive plus the 360 costs the same as the high end version of the ps3. Not only does it cost the same, but it has a larger HDD and free online.

Now with better backwards compatibility, blue-ray built in (meaning games can use it, unlike the 360) same price point as a HD DVD 360, and on paper a much more powerfull system how is this not good?

...and built in Wi-Fi, and a charger for the controller (add another $120-$130 to the price of the 360). I have a 360 and love it...but if I had $600 and could find one, I'm sure I'd love a PS3 just as much.

I have to agree, just like the 360, ill wait until i see some games to buy it for. I just got my 360 for Dead Rising and Gears of War, and im glad i finally got one.

On paper a much more powerful system, sure, but in practice? So far, no dice. Both Xbox 360 and PS3 have had port-y launch titles, so I think we should give it a fair shake, however, I think Sony is going to mess this one up.

Any first gen games look terrible, look at the 360's line up, pretty much a joke graphic wise for what they said it will do. Just like any systems, once Devs have their hands on it it will improve, unfortunately for Sony their systems aren't the easiest to program for.

It seems Microsoft's strategy was to get the console out a year earlier, put a ton of money into a studio to produce a game that looks as good as what Sony will release. You could argue that it seems to be working, since Microsoft has worked most of the kinks out of the 360, released a fairly inexpensive HD DVD add on (which works with Windows to, which might be the boost HD-DVD needs over bluray), and Epic has released a game that looks as amazing. Doesn't help that the GeForce 8800s beat the PS3 to release.

My question for the PS3 faithful, is "What is the 'Wow!' factor of the PS3?"

In slight disagreement, I thought Call of Duty 2 looked pretty good (and sounded extremely good. In my opinion sound is every bit as important as graphics). Resistance: Fall of Man also looks good, judging from reviews and screenshots.

ahh, delicious vegetablonomics

Still, even the PS3 with all those features doesn't justify the cost. Most console gamers don't have $600 to wing. Console gamers want good games, not good machines. Console gamers don't want a full-forced powerful computer, they want good games that look pretty.

What is it that's so great about the specs of a PS3? There's nothing there that a modern PC can't do. Nvidia already released a superiour desktop GPU to the one that the PS3 has before the PS3 was even released and more will follow in Q1 of 2007.

Interview with the Nvidia CEO:

http://blogs.mercurynews.com/aei/2006/11/n...a_launches.html

Q: I guess at 3 Teraflops, you are at least 50 percent faster than the PlayStation 3?

Jen-Hsun: It’s basically bigger. Cell has been around 2- 3 years. It’s later in time so not surprised it’s more.

Q: So that means the PC has come back to the forefront in graphics?

Jen-Hsun: Yeah, I don’t think anyone denies that. It’s expected that PC evolves and advances on 6-months cycles. And consoles advance on a 5 year cycle. In very beginning, game console is faster and more powerful than the average install base of 150 million PCs, quite an achievement. Over time, the PC continues to evolve, and you sell over 250 million, over next few years, PC becomes more powerful than game console again. Programmers extract every last drop out of game console. It gives consoles a factor of 2 advantage, without software overhead, using high-level tools to write programs. PC has advantage over the game console.

Sorry, I don't see how the PS3 is ahead of its time.

It uses that new drive for game that can be fit on DVD's. dry.gif

I think it's a microsoft thing... if you think about it; ever since microsoft launched the 360 they've been saying over and over that PS3 will "flop" and that's what they wanted to stick in everyones mid was we beat them to it so they wont do good and it's working lol, even if the PS3 is better in many ways microsoft got the drop by releasing a mediocre system (at the same price(s) when it launched as PS3 now)
Stargazer
PS3 is too expensive.

I'll use that $600 to go buy a geforce 7950 gx2 and a video game for that price.

Then again the PS3 will have a 5 year life... unlike that game and graphics card (which is already out of date) tongue.gif

The 360 isn't a mediocre system.

another point that nobody as said before. just because the PS3 sold out doesnt mean its any good. it just means that sony fanboys bought it.
HissingNewt
Also, as that comic said, there was a very small supply of all the next gen systems. They all sold out because there was a small supply.
